I've been an IndyCar fan all my life (really - i went to the race in 1967 I was 4) I'm embarrassed and angered by today's event. But mostly just sad.

No magic needed, just will.
Zack Polanski, "If we decarbonise by 2050, that would cost less than a single (fossil-fuel) energy shock"

"We've now had two energy shocks in just a few years"

"We cannot keep waiting, we cannot keep hoping for magic technologies - it already exists, what is lacking is the political will"

Trump must be impeached for undermining and subverting our free and fair elections. And when he sends ICE agents to the polls, then we must turn civic action into civil disobedience and take to the streets. Sit in. Protest. Withhold our labor. Everything must be on the table.

Correct your priors: Private money is going after clean energy, governments are using public money to prop up fossil fuels

"About 59% of all money spent on the fossil fuel system came from taxpayers in 2015. By 2025, that climbed to 68% and spiked at 78% in 2022." www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...
Who’s Really Keeping Fossil Fuels Alive? Taxpayers
To judge by the way many people discuss the energy transition, we’re engaged in a fight between green idealogues in government and academia on the one hand, and a more realistic private sector that re...

Might have to post this annually until we do something.
At this juncture I’d like to point out:
* we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing
* there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world
* a united approach could stop the climate crisis
But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.

We are all so stressed and fearful.

Saturday morning, Ann and I were in Boston after the 5K race I ran. We had stopped into Eataly at the Prudential Center for a coffee and a pastry.

Never again a country without consequences!
Perhaps Magyar's most important promise, and the one that certainly resonates with voters: "never again a country without consequences!"

The crowd chants: "To prison! To prison!" [with the corrupt officials of the outgoing government]

Q. Gemini, Which is more likely - He nukes Iran or the 25th Amdmt is invoked?
A. While both are currently being discussed by analysts and lawmakers, neither is considered a high-probability event in the immediate term, though the 25th Amendment has significantly more political "chatter" this morning

The entire tech stack of energy of the 1950-2020 period has just been made almost obsolete with technology that costs under 20% in infrastructure investment cost for the same energy, and can be manufactured and installed 5x faster than the fastest fossil fuel infrastructure.

This is a new epoch.
