The #gratefuldead played #shorelineamphitheatre 39 times (‘87-‘95). I was fortunate enough to be in attendance for 38 of those performances. Today is the anniversary of the show I missed (10.4.87). My favorite version of Jack Straw opened the show. Give it a listen — a note for note masterpiece!

Have you ever been deathly ill at a show but you still powered through? That was me OTD in ‘98. I had been taking an assortment of psychedelics for the previous 4 shows and my body just shut down. I laid down on these cold metal bleachers for the entirety of S2. 😵

1989 was a renaissance year for the Dead. With so many epic shows/runs that year, sometimes a hidden gem like this one gets missed. The setlist will not blow anyone away, but the execution is impeccable!
