Mouthy woman.
I’m leaving tonight for a week and a half in Europe (London, then Paris for work). The longest I’ve ever been away from my kids. The anxiety is real! Im excited for trip but also feel like im going to cry at the same time. DH is coming for the LDN portion, so hopefully I settle once we are boarded.

Ah Gen Z. I just walked into a place where I had placed an online order for food. The worker stopped what he was doing and stared at me. I was like uhh I placed an order for food. No reaction. My name is…. Walks away and checks the fridge, and then leaves. I guess my food’s not ready yet?

I had a dream about my grandpa last night. He was my favorite person, and he died about 2 wks into my senior year of college. Woke up crying. Ugh. I miss him so much.

Hello, I am in California and I am reading in the sunshine. It is lovely.

Also, for my NYC restaurant friends, I finally ate at Gatsbys Landing and it was great! They make their own pastas and breads daily and the music was 💯. Highly recommend for your pre-theater dining, or just dining in general.

I want to cry when I think about how Europe and Australia seem to have mastered work life balance. They look at us like we are insane. I had dinner with an Aussie friend last night and to hear her talk about how she works from home and work doesn’t seem to rule her life I was so incredibly jealous

You’re not going to tell me we would’ve been doing worse with Kamala in office. And we wouldn’t have licensed mercenaries roaming the streets disappearing and murdering people.

This can’t be the strong economy all those finance bros claimed they were voting for when they pulled the lever for Trump.

I remember back in the 80s my sad, divorced mom had that Dianetics book, and I don’t think I ever appreciated how close we came to being sold into Scientology.

A truly New York experience last night. DH and I are on the train headed home from a dinner date and a drunk couple starts chatting with us from the seats across. She has a stitched up cut running from ear to chin and he has some dried blood on his sneaker, but they were lovely nonetheless.

My hairstylist in NJ closed her salon and after 9 yrs I have to find someone new. I thought maybe I’ll finally switch to someone local, and all these places require a “consultation” to talk about my vision for my hair first. 🤦🏻‍♀️

American Airlines just announced new “perks” including the ability to stream Fox News and I think I may start using another airline for all my miles.

The highs and lows of NYC living: I got a rush seat to the final performance of Are You Now or Have You Ever Been, but the trains are running on an adjusted schedule, so it’s going to take me an hour and 15 mins to get to the show.

A whole summer where we can’t eat salads or berries. What a country.

I finished a work project that I had been putting off for almost a month and I felt amazing coming in today… to all the other work projects 🫠

I was trying to articulate what it feels like to live in Mamdani’s NYC, and I think it’s like being in college again. It feels like there’s always something cool happening and you really just want to go to the parties but classes (work) keeps getting in the way.

Someone on my train smells like a cabbage patch kid and I’m drowning in nostalgia for 1985.

My throat is so raw from the smoky air this week. We had so much rain today, it flooded the city and the air quality is FINALLY in healthy range.

I think I’m celebrating Bastille Day so hard because I am missing celebrating July 4th with such unbridled happiness. My company put out the most lovely spread and I can’t believe how happy it’s making me.

My fave category of summer vacation in NYC: “we’re going to the Hamptons, where my in-laws rented a place for the family, then we’re going to the cape where my parents rented a place for the family.” Just a reminder that we are making it amongst these people who had tremendous head starts in life.

Why are offices so cold? I shouldn’t have to freeze because some man cant regulate his temperature better.

Another one of my son’s friends is leaving Brooklyn. I was prepared that with the natural break of middle school we would lose people but this is such a good kid.

No Talenti lady today, but there is a woman eating out of a full sized box of Honey Nut Cheerios. Just carrying around that giant open box.
