Sir I am not in the habit of eating the shell of the nut—that's just regular wood. It's the nut's house.
So my line has really become “numerical growth goes with spiritual growth, even if it doesn’t guarantee it”

Here’s where the survey *does* help: the things people should say are “spiritual growth” (adults in formation and service through and beyond the church, giving that covers the budget, youth in fellowship): they happen at greater frequencies in growing churches!
November 2, 2026 at 7:20 PM
Yeah I think that’s right: the study didn’t have the mechanisms for confirming this (I should have asked: do you cultivate a culture of growth or something similar!) but my experience is that growing churches make growth a priority.

The fascists wrongly appropriating Star Wars don’t seem to understand that Vader was second in command, right? The capacity to take out Palpatine was a singular opening he took advantage of. There is no “Vader becomes emperor” coming out of the prequels

This message will definitely resonate with working class Americans

Some of it was brewing even about a decade ago: I remember seeing a surge in pro-Empire-aesthetics type posts on Facebook and even then I remember being like “uh oh”

There is a kind of irony about today given that sometimes Dems are accused of being unwilling to enforce party discipline…

My man basically “we do not contend with flesh and blood”ed this election
This election is a battle between the powers that be and the powers that ought to be.

The powers that be have chosen their candidate. They’ve already bought and paid for Ken Paxton.

I want to be a senator for every Texan who can’t afford one.

worth remembering that a large part of the black voting electorate is what you might call the first VRA generation — people who would have been the first in their families to turn 18 with the actual right to vote — and that their parents/grandparents lived through jim crow
yeah, so, i think Bluesky may be kind of structurally blind to exactly how mad the organs of Black politics in the South are right now

Yeah at one point he was like “it wasn’t under $1000 like my opponent says, it was just over $1000!” or something to that effect

Everything about this guy is like Kevin in the Office in the episode where Ryan gets him to tell his Big Mac idea to Robert California

This is how you know he’s a True Believer in putting people in prison for petty medical debt.
What an unusual situation: the NYT reports Marshall filmed the ad personally against the advice of his campaign team. Then his staff still refused to air it, so he personally sent it around to media folks to share it: www.nytimes.com/2026/11/01/u...
To close his campaign, Roger Marshall is running a 60-second ad about a central theme of this campaign — how he treated patients.

“We had to keep the lights on, so we occasionally handed accounts over to collection agencies”, he explains.

An option to consider would be a book, a book full of homilies that definitively teach the faith without error and with style, for those unable to preach, a book of homilies if you will
No offense to all my priest friends but at Vatican III I hope they impose a license requirement for homilies
