Gale and Astarion standing off against each other, with a sunset scene and cows in the background. Gale is broader than his in game version, with longer hair and purple marks of corruption creeping up his arm and chest. He’s wearing a brown vest and pants over a white shirt with rolled up sleeves, and a glove on his corrupted hand. Astarion is thinner, more wasted from his captivity, and shirtless here, wearing chaps over black pants and reaching for his gun. He’s wearing a sunwalking ring on his index finger. He tried to focus on the relief he felt from abject hunger —the blood returning life to his numb extremities, flushing his skin back to something approaching living skin, rendering his mind capable of more complex reasoning once more. He stifled a groan-even alone, he'd learned to suppress any hint of emotion while feeding-and tilted his head to press his fangs a little deeper, coax a little stronger flow from the vein. He felt greedy, now that he finally had access to plenty, and who knew how long it would be until he had a chance like this again— Suddenly there was a noise. A dry, awful noise. Someone clearing their throat. Astarion's blood ran cold despite his newfound warmth. He jerked suddenly upright, his eyes wild and his chin streaked with blood as the cow startled, then shied away and fled bellowing to the other side of end of the pasture. Through the haze of dust the beast had kicked up, Astarion spotted the man from the apothecary, standing placidly with arms folded before him. He was the one with that silly name, whatever it was. Something to do with a storm? "I don't think the Hallowleafs would appreciate you poking holes in their prized heifer, Aldric," the man commented dryly. Aldric...? Ah. Right. Astarion wiped his mouth hastily with the back of his hand, his eyes narrowing as his hand flew automatically to the gun he wore at his hip. The man had thrown him off, though, by seeming strangely unthreatened. Most who saw evidence of a vampire-especially some freak who could walk in sunlight—would move to stake him on the spot, or call up a lynch mob. Surely there was law enforcement in this town, although he hadn't encountered them yet. What exactly had this one en, anyway?but he supposed the blood he'd only just wiped from his mouth along with the man's commentary said it all. Fuck. What use was he making of his vampiric senses if an ordinary, obnoxious human man could sneak up on him? Particularly one who couldn't stop talking. He d been distracted, feeding after so long, but this was bad. His fingers closed around the cold barrel of the pistol at his hip. "It's Gale, remember?" the man reminded him unhelpfully. "We met at the apothecary...and you know, I'd rather advise against your current course of action." Too late, Astarion noticed that this man was no slouch with his own hands, although surely he couldn't match the vampire's dexterity...and yet he'd flipped his own revolver out from behind his folded arms, aimed it, his thumb squarely on the hammer. Astarion snorted inelegantly. "Well, you could try." He tapped his bare chest demonstratively. "But unless you've got a harpoon gun, I wish you luck."

Other people always think Ciro, with his lovely star tattoos and cunty styling.
But it will always be Nerys to me.

(same girl, different context)
Karlach from BG3 looming over my Tav Miriik, shouting "I didn't come here to make friends. I cam here to fucking cuddle!" In reference to Giganta from My Adventures with Superman.

TL;DR: expecting that people will be horrified and broken right after experiencing something terrible is an outdated and incorrect assumption about how human minds work and react to trauma.

I keep repeating it again and again... but... leaving you with my guy over here 😁

🍄 More Comics 🍄 Patreon 🍄 Ko-Fi 🍄
Baldur's Gate 3 fan comic. "Guys! Look!" Karlach grabs everyone's attention while holding her favourite teddy bear aloft. "Fangs gave Clive glowing claws and a heart that lights up when I do!" Indeed, embroidered patches on the teddy bear glow with a pulse that matches that of Karlach's infernal engine. "It's so adora-tastic I could explode!" "Something to celebrate your newfound ability to not explode," Astarion chimes in, ready to be showered with praise. "A clever use of spidersilk on my par--" And the wind is crushed out of Astarion when Karlach grabs him in a big bear hug. "You're the best! C'mere!" Aldiirn can't help but smile at seeing Astarion help another companion - and maybe also at the side of his legs ragdolling around in Karlach's enthusiastic embrace. Wyll also smiles at the show. "As one heart slows its terrible burn, another sparks with warmth. Your generosity is rubbing off on Astarion." "I only gave him the tools and space, it was all on him to decide how to use them," Aldiirn says. "Don't sell your influence so short," Wyll chides, "I never would have expected the Astarion I first met would freely repair my threadbare clothes. He took his sewing kit and went out of the way for half the camp." Wyll's last words give Aldiirn a sinking feeling as he catches a glint of something on Wyll's back... There, barely catching the light on the back of Wyll's crop top are the words "Daddy's Boy" in an elegant cursive. Aldiirn immediately recognizes it as spidersilk embroidery, nearly invisible when used so finely, unlikely to be noticed unless one was looking for it... Snooping around the rest of the camp, Aldiirn spots "Shar's Favourite Princess" written on Shadowheart's top and "Mystra's Pet" embroidered into Gale's adventuring robes. Aldiirn dares not get close enough to Lae'zel to look for any words on the narrow bands of her top harness, but he's sure Astarion must have made cheeky additions to everyone's clothes. Aldiirn sequesters himself inside his tent and shoves aside enough of the overgrown fungi to lay his shirt flat. He conjures Dancing Lights and crouches low over his shirt to look for any words that might light up. "Using an entire spool of spidersilk for a prank is one thing, but all in one rest?" Aldiirn mutters to himself, "I underestimated the time he has when he doesn't hunt... "He must have run out of one of the other before getting to my clothes," Aldiirn concludes, not realizing he's been looking on the wrong article and that "juicy" is written across the seat of his pants.
