I feel duty-bound to tell you that S4E6 of Ted Lasso has one of the funniest scenes I have ever watched on telly. I nearly gave myself an asthma attack laughing at Keely and Rebecca’s exchange about men and dancing.

We’re out and about taking photos for @birdandbeach.bsky.social inspiration today, but 20 years ago all the cameras were focused on us.

Would you like to see what our packaging looks like when you buy a set of 4 coasters from us? Designed inhouse - by Elisabeth, who is showing off one of Ryan's sets here.

I let myself get cold working downstairs, and I finally started warming up from dinner but not I have to get changed to go teach Pilates, but I’m still too brrr to want to remove any clothing layers.

Wish me luck!

(Also, if you’re in Wellington, and in want of a Pilates teacher… think of me?)

Sigh.

My laptop updated last night.

I could hear the fan but that stopped, and the light is going, but it must still be applying them, because there are no other signs of life.

Of course I have tons to get done today.

You know those days where you try to cleverly save yourself 30 minutes work but it ends up taking you 4 hours instead? It's been one of those.

But your patience has been rewarded (even if you didn't know you were waiting for this) because so many new coasters now: birdandbeach.co.nz/product-cate...

Tell me, do you use your fancy tea towels, or keep them for good?

I’m in the “keep them nice for baking day” camp. They do dry well, but it’s so nice wrapping a fresh batch of scones or loaf of bread straight out of the oven in something pretty.

I was doing some work in my room this afternoon, and I’ve just gone back in there to find Pīata has set up house under my lap desk.

I am certainly this old, but I am also old enough to have had a lecturer in second year at Uni bravely trying out his first PowerPoint presentation. Technology previously unknown to us all!
Bruh I am *this* old

As I was on the way out of the sanctuary today, the people ahead of me spotted a pair of the roundest kererū you've ever seen. Simply magnificent! Photos were taken (just not by me).

Another couple of people were passing by on their way in, so we pointed them out to them.

They got very excited...

It's really kind of my brain to let me be so focused on work at... 2 am.

I guess it's time to down tools for the night. Have to get up and go say hello to some birds and plants and tuatara and maybe even some insects tomorrow.

Hey, question for Welly folk who are into comic/pop culture type stuff (yes, I am old)...

Have any of you been to any of the Welly-X Comic & Pop-culture expos that happen a few times a year around the city? If so, what's the vibe... do you think my Absurbirdies would fit in?

That moment when you have an idea that you're not sure if it is pure genius or just really silly.

I've had lots of X-rays and scans. I have access to the images.

I've been talking about hoodie zippers when teaching Pilates, to get people to think about their spine.

I could print my 🩻on a 👕.

Actually, on reflection, it makes perfect sense; if an Australian spots a creature they've never seen before, their first reaction *should* be alarm.
How deadly is this thing?
Should I run? Or shout?
How long do I have to live?

This is how I find out that there is a beehive at the Australian Parliament too...
My partner found out that I have been using the lower drawer of the freezer to kill Varroa mite in the drone trap frames from the Parliament #beehives.
I may need to go into hiding for a bit.
