As if you needed a reason to believe these guys really can't be trusted to police themselves...

Of course not.

It's as serious as a heart attack.
FFS… Is it really an accident anymore at this point?

Understand that Garland did not expect the entire rule of law to evaporate in front of him. His actions make perfect sense if you follow the law and reject the "I'm right because I'm right!" argument.

If Article 1 & 3 power is not stopped from subverting DOJ, what else can happen? It is systemic.

Would Merrick Garland think it inappropriate to impeach Trump today? He refused to prosecute Trump numerous times when he had the best chances. He was so totally worthless. I think Jack Smith would agree.

The strategy is to make them out to be the bad guys*. That makes them a victim of an out-of-control main-stream media blitz that is out to get them.

*Forget, for the moment, that breaking laws is what makes them the bad guys, not being innocent.
The networks are now owned by trumpers, and the nfl owners are trumpers as well
The GOP are flooding the NFL games with ads.

Where are the Dems?

I just turned 68!

I am truly sad about today's grads outlook for the future.

From what I have heard about AI, it basically takes any fun that may have existed out of mundane jobs to make them more insufferable.

I [am/was] an Engineer(slide-rule trained).

Threats of impeachment only scare Trump.

Threats of ethics reform will scare everybody on 'The Hill'.
October 4, 2026 at 11:58 PM
You are supposed to be outraged by Federal funds being used to pay for political ads. That's the why.

They're running these ads to try to get the Dems make threats against the Orange Man. It's hard to be the victim if nobody is attacking you.
Why am I seeing a Texas Senate campaign ad during the Bears/Jets game?

What gets me about the Flock Cameras is that the general public acts so surprised that the police are abusing them for illegal and immoral purposes.

I knew an everyday Joe who claimed to have an in with LEO and could get Name & Addy from any License plate. Yes, he was outraged at the stalking.
All you have to do is talk about these things and the public becomes politically inspired and active. It’s called leadership. That’s what you do instead of rushing to follow the polls and endorsing horrible shit while salivating over votes
Americans are increasingly aware of the surveillance systems used by almost 80 percent of police departments to trace vehicles and drivers without a warrant—and they are pissed.

Well, that thing in Venezuela was new. Particularly the strategy of blowing up fishing boats prior to invasion.

With ME our strategy has always been to poke them in the eye and run. But, what's new here is the plan to draw down our munitions and destroy several of our bases in the area.
Brilliant!
“No NEW wars” was the trick, and I can’t believe people fell for it, but many did (including most media).

If Americans have to hear about war in a new location, that is bad and the US president’s fault (Libya, Ukraine). Trump Term 1 worsened Syria, Iran, Yemen, Afghanistan, but that doesn’t count.
I genuinely think the “no NEW wars” thing from Trump 1.0 was amazingly successful spin. He literally made every conflict in the world worse. He was never anti-war for even one second.
October 4, 2026 at 12:26 PM
Well, you got your CoVid checks, didn't you?

You gotta admit, that was brilliant! Trump got credit for them when they were sent out, but Biden got blamed for the inflation they caused. You add to that the fact Biden 'fixed' the inflation and kept economy running.

Trump breaks it and is King!
I'm still waiting for my DOGE check.
I'm still waiting for my tariff check.
So why should I believe I'm getting 5K?
Wait... anyone get their $2K checks?
How about their $5K checks?
Oh, great... now seniors will get $100 if they vote red.
Not sure that's gonna cover healthcare.
What do you think?

It's not that he's asleep at the wheel, it's that he wants us to crash.
Wow, these job numbers are TERRIBLE. Many people are saying we must have an “incompetent” president who is “asleep at the wheel”
DUN DUN DUN -- Fox Business on the September jobs report: "The numbers do not look good. I'm looking at 29,000 jobs added. That is well below expectations for 90,000, and our unemployment rate jumps up to 4.2%. A significant slowdown."
October 3, 2026 at 2:14 AM
OK, let me get this straight.

It's OK not to hate Mexicans now, so if they are doing your yard, cleaning, etc..., it's OK.

But, if they're Muslim, it's not OK.

Got it.

It's so hard to keep up with the bigots.

I suspect that, provided there are historians left in the future, this photo will be as famous as the Ruby shooting Oswald one in '63.

Not now, but in 50-75 years, when they star documenting the fall of America.

You can't say there isn't collusion. Collusion is that this whole meeting was about.
who trump really cares about:

What I gather from the Sept Jobs report, the unemployment rate is low, but the number of new jobs is also low.

This indicates that while the workplace is (nearly) fully employed, the job market is very soft. Meaning, if you want a job, you probably have a job. Great!

But try and find a better job?

OK, Hegseth is decimating our military's top brass. The number of people who can competently lead is lower.

Russia is expanding threats to NATO.

Am I the only one who can see what is going to happen?

If we ever get out out this problem, the solution will include

-Working capital gets same tax rate as working labor.
-Wealth gets taxed. I get taxed on value of my car and house (two largest sources of wealth for most Americans), but why are the largest sources of wealth for Billionaires exempt?

I really would like to know how many other students had their crimes shielded by writing an essay.

At least, can we get Cornell to give us a list of crimes that are eligible for such leniency?

How can we tell if they were applying this essay-writing rehabilitation equally?
Let's see the essays. Make them public. Let us read these scrawled golden tickets offered up by Cornell administrators to allow rapists to continue on with their lives unscathed. Was there a required word count? Did any of them use AI to write their "sorry for raping you" pieces?

Let us read them.

Unfortunately, I am afraid you may be right.
Fuck Face has his own military against Americans. That's one way of disguising that he's running this country for Putin. Elections will not be enough to stop him, since he's manipulated every branch of government in his favor. Soon, we're going to see some shit go down.
September 28, 2026 at 4:33 PM
Holy Refuse, People!

Stop reposting Trump's free AD!

Yes, it's outrageous, yes it's illegal, but as long and we allow it, it will continue, and reposting it just normalizes it.

He's been doing this shit to us for 12 years now, you'd think at least some of the smart ones here would figure it out.
September 28, 2026 at 12:36 PM
What are you gonna do, stop him?

That's the message he's paying for.
Why is the “US Government” running campaign ads for the sitting president?
September 28, 2026 at 1:19 AM
They're quite good at that. I wonder how many rehearsals they had to do?
look close and you can see Natalie Harp boarding Marine One to travel with Trump today #TravelWithNatalie

What am I missing here?

If you make it illegal for billionaires to give their money to politicians, and used that money for, say, food, medical care, and housing, we all would be better off, right?
