The Vibe era is opening up a new level of insecurity on the Internet. Couple that with constant Gen Ai nonsense, and I see a return of Third Spaces in the Analog World... and local data with local computing tools (for those who can afford to build them right now).

For musicians, there's a lot of positive direction to unpack in this. "The industry" and "social media" are not the only musical existence.

It's ok to just be a local musician in your own physical world. You don't need the industry or social media to enjoy your music. Be free from that grind.

You know what I think...

If you're not happy with your guitar tone, you shouldn't start trying different guitars or buying amps or mics. Start by trying a different pick or move your fingerstyle position up toward the neck.

You can probably find the tone by working on what you do first.

Why did this become the dumbest timeline? How did we slip into a trade war with Canada? Idiocracy has no bottom. The lowest low just keeps going.

Expanding the mic cabinet this week... one of which is the Rode NT-SF1 (immersive capture mic). If you work in immersive formats...

What sounds formats and channel counts do you want in sound effect libraries? Would you rather have the raw output or decoded formats like 5.1 or Quad or Ambisonic?

TIL that you can listen to public radio channels through this website. I believe that all broadcasts like this are public domain and could be fun for sampling and sound designers. Are there any reasons this couldn't be used in media production?

It took a lot of digging... but I finally learned that USB2 devices should not be trusted on USB3 (xHCI) ports. This means that backward compatibility is more marketing than fact.

This problem is especially risky for audio data streams. Did the tech deep dive in a blog post.

I had this guitar made for me in the 90s by Ernie, one of the guys that worked in the Lowden factory.

It’s a friend’s son’s 18th today. He’s so into music and he fell in love with it, so today I’ll give it to him so it can have another life.

Farewell old friend ♥️

Yay or Nay?

I've got a lead on a great price for a Gen1 DSP version. Always wanted to try it. Could definitely use it while tracking or sound designing with the synths. But.... there are other things that could benefit the studio, so it's not a quick decision. But... this price is super
