You know who didn’t have this problem? Network television studios. They didn’t play negotiation roulette every year, so you could count on a new season of a successful show every fall. This was good for the network AND the talent cuz everybody’s money was guaranteed. Netflix dug this hole.

More than a 1 year gap is seen to largely cause a significant loss in viewership.
