The most generous assessment is that this was shitty, lazy engineering; the more in-character scenario is that the sandbox was intentionally breakable because of the story it would generate. Whichever you believe, the story is not "OMG, they made AGI!"

I’ve seen a lot of this worry but to me the core is this: data centers provide little to negative actual benefit to Normal People. Even if you like them, they’re not especially exciting to have nearby. There are very real people who are stoked to advocate for local green power, and that does matter.
I know we're all supposed to be herding onto the anti-data center bandwagon, but man, I worry a *lot* that it's going to overspill its borders & become a more generalized anti-wind & solar, anti-battery, anti-grid-infrastructure, anti-transmission, anti-anything mega-glonzo that leaves us worse off.

I think another lesson to take from the loss of both Dolly and Tim Curry is that neither of them took themselves seriously but they took the work dead serious

This entire album is one of my favorites, and I never knew this was a Woody Guthrie song
I was today years old when I learned Dolly Parton recorded Woody Guthrie's song "Deportee (Plane Wreck At Los Gatos)" in 1980.
It's a heartbreaking song about immigration and specifically deportation plane that crashed in 1948 killing dozens of Mexican "bracero" workers.
Her version is beautiful💔

my wife has a friend who sent Dolly Parton a painting she made & a letter explaining how much Dolly's music meant to her while she was transitioning. Dolly responded to it personally & paid for her top surgery. Sounds like an urban legend but it's real. I think we're going to more stories like this.
