Happily married guy living in Midtown Atlanta. I like dogs 🐕, cats 🐈‍⬛ and a few people 👬. I don’t do cults masquerading as political parties, convicted felons as POTUS or tuna casseroles.

Trump has such contempt for the voters of South Carolina that he elevated someone utterly unqualified for senate who knows absolutely nothing about anything connected to the job who reads scripts given to her by MAGA handlers while calling the qualified Democrat names and slurs.

I guess my spot on the sofa is no longer available. I’ll find somewhere else to convalesce.

Yesterday was my first time in nine years missing the doggie splish splash bash at the Piedmont Park pool. We had a whole day planned for Truman, Archie and Nelson but I was just unable to do it. The pain meds had me high as a kite yesterday morning which was quite enjoyable actually. (1/2)

Starting to use Mastodon via Vivaldi Social. Found a great app to post to BlueSky and Mastodon. Trying to switch off of Meta as much as I can and use platforms like Vivaldi and Proton to divorce myself from America tech bros as much as possible.

Quite the ad featuring Ken Paxton's estranged wife, Angela.

"Let's talk about the elephant in the room. In a general election, it's not as much about the individual players on the team. It's about getting the whole team across the finish line. ... That's why I'm voting for the Republican ticket."

Unfortunately, as expected...

His vocabulary is so limited it’s like reading a transcript of Koko, the gorilla who knew sign language, if Koko were a white nationalist
I recommend people read this to get a sense of the president's grave cognitive impairment. Trump is either unwilling or unable (or maybe both) to answer the questions he's actually asked, so he just rants and raves while the interviewers do their best to provide structure to his random brain firings

77 million Americans voted for national suicide in 2024.
We're seeing it unfold right now: The economy vandalized, the military weakened, politicians bribed, tech run wild, immigrants terrorized, and government goon squads committing murder.
Vote against all Republicans. It could be our last chance.

Again why even have a Congress if they are always telling us they can’t do anything except what the orange calf they worship wants?
Rick Scott on AI: "Congress can't regulate this. We can't get election security passed or pass a budget, so we're not gonna be the ones to do it. It's gonna have to be done through the administration with talking to these AI companies."

We’re fucked.
Q: Tell us why the world shouldn't be concerned about AI, why there shouldn't be guardrails?

TRUMP: Because we have people that love our country & love the world a lot

Q: It requires more than love, doesn't it?

T: No. It requires this *points to head* and they're the smartest people in the world

This. It has always been this. A sitting American president did this. And because he did this, he should have been convicted and put behind bars. And the fact that we never held him accountable for these crimes will forever stain this country. And we may never recover from it.👇

He is so out of his depth it’s embarrassing. We have the worst possible president at the AI inflection moment. The opportunity cost of putting this guy back in office is vast.
Trump: "Super Intelligence - SI - I don't call it AI anymore. I call it SI because it's a much better name. It's a much more accurate name, because when you say the other, that means it's fake. 'Artificial' means it's fake & it's not fake. It's just very strong intelligence...it's much more elegant"

When Joe Biden took office, America’s allies were willing to treat the first Trump term as an aberration. That ship has sailed. The world is no longer waiting for us to come to our senses, and the trust we squandered may take a generation to rebuild if anyone still believes we are capable of it.
