Most #forests are gone due to meat & dairy. The forests we still see are NOT real forests but forestry. They lack CO2 due to lack of a microbiome in the soil. They lack predators and healthy ecosystems.

We are collapsing primary production aka carbon sinks for cheap meat & dairy for cheap humans. This is half of all climate forcing. Burning fossil fuels saved us time to end population growth and meat aka deforestation. We didn't and don't discuss it and will hence go extinct soon.

Old growth forests store 83% more #CO2 than wood monocultures. 1.5-5% of the Northern hemisphere forests are still old growth. But this is only a tiny part of the full impact of destroying healthy ecosystems aka the last non-cancer cells in the body. The other part is cloud #albedo due to BVOCs.

If one person sees the rejection of animal use as a serious ethical position while the other sees it as annoying, restrictive, or dramatic, they are not simply choosing different dinners. They are operating from different moral universes.
