I'm replaying Astro Aqua Kitty again. But this time, with purpose! I'm analysing the game's hidden lore and doing a total re-write of the story! This game is very dear to my heart, but I'd love to know more about the ancient civilization and the crystal. So I'm writing my own interpretation.

Gradius III SA-1 is one my most proud ROM hacks. Zero slowdown. Gameplay fluid as a rocket.

You can either play it unlocked (60 FPS and harder) or play the Origin version (60 FPS with speed controls for fair difficulty).

It's available for download and works on real hardware.

Anyone know the name of an animation from around the '90s, about a small rural village, where the men go off to kill a wolf one at a time and never come back, and the twist ending is the women find them all partying.

Online search was crapolla, mentioning The Village which has a v different story

Interesting story about improving the accuracy of all PC Engine emulation (hardware and software):
Legend of Xanadu has very long animations (3 to 5 minutes) with ADPCM playing in the background. Some emulators gradually de-synchronize after a couple of minutes.

We found out why.

I’ve reached the point - well actually, I reached it a while ago - where I’m militantly anti-AI. Fine - use it in bioscience labs and radiology where it might help analyse data more effectively. Use it sparingly for systems engineering. Everywhere else, it can fuck off.

The thing with AI is much like when Radium☢️ was discovered in 1898.

It was used in paint, glass, advertised as healthy, without care or knowledge of the actual costs it came with.

Historically, capitalists jumped into trends to sell a fancy new technology thing that just happen to kill you
this is a *wild* thing to post

A THREAD, which I am calling 'Some Of The Many Reasons Lichen And Moss Are Fucking Brilliant'.

1. They make public seating super comfy.
There are over 18,000 types of lichen in existence. My personal favourite is ‘village bench lichen’, which devotes its entire existence selflessly to gradually making communal public seating more furry and comfortable.
