Subsidizing demand while do nothing to increase supply in a supply crunch... is extremely bad policy!

Like many reform movements of the 2010s, much of the new economic thinking activists have fallen into a general "Everything is evil" anti-establishment, populist slop.

There were valid alternatives and still valid concerns! But I can't be lumped in with these people...

This campaign WILL be observing Halloween for all of October. And while VERY TOUGH TO BEAT, we will be the absolute Spookiest campaign in the country.

We think too narrowly. Think "that part of town is bad, my part of town is good, I'm looking out for my part".

It's too connected to think that way. We rise and fall together. It all comes back on us. Even self-interest requires us to consider the whole picture.

We'll certainly continue to debate the tradeoffs of Flock cameras for many elections to come. But it seems pretty unquestionable that 4th amendment protections must apply now.

To actually use Flock tracking, get a warrant.

This would also prevent the abuses we're seeing.

We are presently reliving all the mistakes of the 1970s oil shocks and stagflation. Democrats and Republicans rushing to institute bad policy, price controls, and export controls.

Maybe we don't teach history enough? But all our leaders were old enough to live it!

So much of the anti-data center posting is AI generated slop and it's killing me.

Never mistake gross incompetence for malevolence but you'd be hard pressed to believe the Ohio Democratic Party has been anything other than a controlled opposition strawman for a corrupt Republican Party the last 30 years.

All they do is keep the GOP in office.

I HAVE EXTENDED AN INVITATION TO WLWT TO EXTEND ME AN INVITATION TO DEBATE WITH VIVEK.

I HAVE PROMISED THE MOST INFORMATIVE, IMPACTFUL, AND HIGHEST VIEWERSHIP DEBATE IN RECENT HISTORY.

REFUSAL IS TANTAMOUNT TO VOTER SUPPRESSION. I AM A VERY SERIOUS CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR.

The American Dream is that in this country we can improve ourselves in our short time on Earth, that our lives can be better, and in improving ourselves improve the world around us, to leave something better for posterity. America asks us to try.

Trump is massively disrespecting Ohio here but also...he lists Wilson as Great? I guess he's an FDR guy now too. Clinton is highly ranked but...Reagan, HW, and Bush didn't make the cut at all?

No Nixon, LBJ, Ike, Truman. What an insane post.

Peter Cullen, voice of Optimus Prime, has died and this one certainly hits hard for me.

He narrated a NASA video which has inspired me for years. Enjoy it.
We Are the Explorers
Why do we explore? Simply, it is part of who we are, something we've done throughout history. NASA's new video, "We Are the Explorers," looks at that tradition of reaching for things just beyond our grasp, and how it's helping lay the foundation for our greatest journeys ahead.

"Forward Party Endorses Independent Congressional Candidates Tracey Tackett and Michael Eisenhauer"

Ohio and Montana voters have real options now. These two candidates are ready to step up, lead, and solve problems.

Put them to work!

At some point we should start to ask ourselves why some of the wealthiest communities in the country have the most data centers. Are they hoarding all the tax revenues and industrial investment for themselves?

Hearing a lot of antipathy toward new construction because "construction jobs are temporary".

Folks, we can just KEEP BUILDING THINGS.

We have a housing shortage, infrastructure in desperate need of updating, and maybe we start building factories again too.

Let's build!

Every policy change results in someone, somewhere, being worse off. Which makes change impossible.
Small benefits to hundreds of millions are easily outweighed by concentrated losses for hundreds.
But stacking small benefits is how great progress is made. It takes determination

We are a nation and a world in crisis. Hard choices lay ahead of us.

Right now though, we are rewarding those who make empty promises of a free lunch.

I say let's give our support to those who will lead in hard times for the long haul.

We can turn this around. Let's fight.

I asked the SOS office for a list of qualified independent candidates and apparently that's a public record request instead of, you know...here is the link to the list of people on the ballot because that's obviously something that we maintain and voters should see.

Jim Webb would have won.

You can just do things. And you can just write memos. Which is just suggesting people do things. And then people will just do things.

Write memos -> run the world.

New York politics gets lots of focus because so many reporters and influencers live in or are obsessed with New York.

Ohio is so lacking in cultural impact that really interesting things happen and go totally unremarked.

How did we become so marginalized? Turn it around!

The uncomfortable fact is that for our multitude of impossible problems, the government can't solve them.

Government needs to do many things well and stop doing things badly but in the end it falls to people, to all of us to change and do better and no one wants to hear that.

If we had a land value tax instead of a property tax you wouldn't have to worry about your taxes skyrocketing because of a housing shortage.

We wouldn't have a housing shortage either.

"DAtA ceNTEr CoNSTruCTIoN jObS aRe TemPORAry And Don't COUnt"

Comrade, you think the 10 million people the construction industry employs in the US are just emptying and filling the same ditch again and again?

Construction projects get completed (*except in California*)!
