So you really don’t understand this is about laying the groundwork in Texas for 2030 and beyond. You also understand if Dems make a serious challenge in TX that republicans will have to spend to defend it?

TX is 40% white, 40% Latino and 12% black. CA is 40% Latino, 35% white, and 15% Asian. Whites in TX are more conservative than CA but they aren’t even the largest race in TX anymore.
So two things. Well Three. No it doesn't, it just doesn't and claiming it does is silly. And I didn't say "demographics" I said demographics and economics and wins indicating a blue shift. You know quantifiable evidence.
If you want to talk demographics, Texas has almost identical demographics to California. Like Georgia and North Carolina, the white people moving in are college educated from blue states like California.

Texas is about 32 million and GA, NC, & VA combined about 31 million. We’re not just talking about one senator, it’s about growing the party. Dems flipped the senate seat in AZ before they flipped the state.
So no it isn't. I mean obviously it's larger. But we aren't talking about TEXAS we're talking about 1 senator ... maybe, in a stretch, w/ a cosmic stroke of luck. 1 senator in NC, AK, KS, KY = exactly as much and the odds are better in addition to them being less expensive combined than just TX.

TX has a demographic comparable to CA. Whether you like it or not, Dems have to compete in TX next decade because electoral power is going to shift from CA, NY, and IL to TX.

So that’s over simplified it again. Because VA had already shifted there were numerous demographic and economic indicators that justified GA and it’s a lot less expensive than TX Your case is in the abstract at best not in the context of Sun belt states where those $ would probably pay off better
So again, it’s not about winning in 2026 but building the party in 2030 and beyond. Before Georgia flipped, Stacy Abrams made it competitive.
