TIL: To my amazement, GNU awk (gawk) gained CSV support in 5.3.0, Nov 2023. You just use the `--csv`/`-k` flag now! 🤩 www.gnu.org/software/gaw...

AWK was one of the first Unix languages I learned well, back in the 1990's. I love that they're still launching major improvements to the language!

This is an interesting observation about a difference in vocabulary between English and the rest of Europe. The same association between debt and guilt also exists in Swedish. Food for thought! 🤔

Equity for Europeans
Equity combines legal fairness, ownership, and upside in one everyday concept.

“Writing is the fundamental form of human expression and ceding jurisdiction over the written word to plagiarism machines is the death of the human mind.” is now load-bearing for me.
AI sucks. Using it to write stuff sucks. Justifying using it to write stuff by saying it allows you to write more stuff sucks. Writing is the fundamental form of human expression and ceding jurisdiction over the written word to plagiarism machines is the death of the human mind.
If you use "A.I." to publish something it has to come with the professional death penalty. You cannot work in news ever again. Yes I know that's not how it actually goes – so many plagiarists are still thriving – but if it is up to me you are fucking done. Pack up your shit and hit the bricks.

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.
