Winston-Salem tenants are living in unsafe, unmaintained housing while landlords face little consequence for failing to make repairs. North Carolina cities like Durham and Greensboro have already passed stronger protections. It's time Winston-Salem does the same!

On July 8th in Carrboro, Club Nova Tenants' Association announced its formation to fight for safe and dignified living conditions. Mulitple units have been condemned or in abatement for severe water damage.

The way these tenants are treated by the landlord DHIC is horrifying and I know the Triangle Tenant Union and @nctenantsunion.org have been working to get tenants some justice.

The lawsuit says Jason Pulliam died of heart failure after he became trapped in the laundry room of his mother's downtown apartment building.

A majority of tenants came together to form two tenant unions: Willard Street United & Ashton Seniors in Action.

Last Wednesday, TTU & CEF members came together to hold a Tenant Rights Workshop in Durham. Tenants got to learn their rights as renters, & also hear from each other about their experiences & how they have dealt with issues in the past. We're looking forward to holding many more of these soon!
