Who owns the moon?
www.nytimes.com/2026/10/04/w...
I do! I won it in a poker game last Tuesday night. So, France owned it & I won France in the poker game. And ok, it was technically Wed. early morning.
Anyhow, croissants will now be made of Parkay margarine & I've renamed the Eiffel to Fred.
Who Owns the Moon?
A treaty from the 1960s declared that nobody can own outer space. Half a century later, billionaires and superpowers see fortunes to be made nonetheless.

Better to arrest & deport every GOP politician & MAGA numbnut; then crush their 12' tall diesel pickup at the junkyard (their "Precious" whips that yell 'I have a small pp').

Then go after the 15' long 8-seat SUVs loaded w/one bloated mom 99.9% of its time, holding a phone in speaker-mode.

Just to add: it fits well with the same attitudes that led to DOGE, MAHA, etc. An absolute conviction that the gang in power, who are not experts in anything at all, know better than the experts.

Sharing responsibility and appreciating expertise is essential to our complex world, and is being lost.
the hardest thing for the politician-bureaucrats to understand -- but which NSF staff *absolutely do* understand and always have -- is that you actually make scientific progress by giving young people money and promising not to bother them
Scientist here:
It is widely known inside science that this—top-down imposition of a research agenda—leads to mostly rote, boring, non-innovative work.

Building an institute to do discovery science is hard: you hire young people, put them together, hope synergies arise and ideas fall out.

100% in agreement; these MAHA dimwits can eat trump's wide ass, and lick Kennedy's toes. Their votes are vapor. Fuck 'em.
They’re loopy RW conspiracy theorists who would never vote Dem anyway. Fuck ‘em.
One of the MAHA leaders that AOC met with is Zen Honeycutt.

Here are Zen's demands for winning MAHA votes.

1 and 2 should be considered non -starters for any Democrat.

Clothing is the worst & dumbest institution. US Americans goddamn love to condemn people's clothing. Infantile.
But it sure is easy!
Kind of like getting a PhD in gym.
I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.

Aaaaaaand Apple Maps to me to the wrong location for an extremely well known medical doctor who's been in an office building for a decade.

Last time the software dopes at Apple Maps did this, I swore never to use this app again; that was five years ago. Don't trust it. Absolute amateur engineers.

Is there a Kalshi bet that trump will surrender five US subs carrying nuclear missiles to Iran (including the crew), in order to declare victory?
This is how he tells himself that none of his many blunders in the Middle East are actually mistakes.

Someday, the anger will erupt in US Americans to oust this gutter-shitbag of a president, a true louse, indeed prosecute & jail the turds like Elon Musk—for a helluva long time—whose work in Doge abruptly ceased aid, policies, outreach & broke laws, closed depts. & institutions, fired thousands+.

Our Constitution expressly forbids control of our elections by the President (Art. I.4). State legislatures & Congress have that power, exclusively.

No Democrat or Republican who swore to uphold our Constitution, but devotes themselves to shredding it, should last one hour in high office.
A Boston judge has issued a 2nd injunction against Trump's mail-voting executive order. This means that, even if SCOTUS overturns the 1st injunction (which is currently on the shadow docket), the order will remain blocked (pending appeal). Time's running out before the election…
