The #BirdOfTheDay theme is #ODG, any Owl, Duck or Goose.
This is a Barnacle Goose that showed up here near Pittsburgh in April of 2025. It was with a group of Canada Geese.

🧶 While I was waiting on yarn to finish the star blanket I decided to start the fall leaf blanket. These half square triangle blocks are fun to knit and you can make loads of patterns with them, just like a quilt.

@edge-nature.bsky.social Hi Scott! Can you give a possible ID on this bird in Oregon? To me it looks like a Kiskadee, but that would be rare for Oregon I think! Thanks!

🌱Ugh, parts of my garden are not doing well this year. Anything in squash family is failing: zucchini, mini watermelon and cukes. Tomatoes don't look great either. On the plus side, hot peppers, snack size sweet peppers and green beans are doing great.

For a junk drawer to legal quality as a real junk drawer, what is the ONE absolute mandatory item it must include?
Random screws you find around the house that you don't know where they fell out from but you might figure out some day.
