After visiting Bryce Canyon National Park, we headed to Capitol Reef National Park. Capitol Reef National Park is a photographers' dream withe paved pathways that you can drive through different areas. This national park you can see in 1/2 day -1 day. It is located in Torrey, Utah. Keep in mind, there are no places to eat lunch at. As we were heading there, we went through Lyman, Utah and be sure and watch your speed through the town! Just saying! There is a Fruita Historic District which includes a schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, the Gifford store and museum.

Bryce Canyon National Park After spending two days at Zion National Park sweating while hiking, we headed to Bryce National Park in Bryce, Utah where the elevation rises up to 9,100 feet elevation. A nice change of pace hiking in the cooler temperatures! The national park is famous for Hoo-Doos which are irregularly-eroded rock spires. Established 1928 and location is 37.5930 degrees North by 112.1871 degrees West. Getting Around Bryce Canyon has a free shuttle service that can you pick you up from the following hotels: Old Bryce Town, Best Western Grand, Best Western Ruby's Inn, Ruby's, and Bryce Lodge.

Last fall, we set out on a an extended trip to see and hike at the Mighty 5 National Parks! The Mighty 5 parks are Zion, Bryce Cannon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches. We traveled from the Midwest to southern Utah to visit Zion National Park first and then went diagonally across the state to northeast Utah. I had previously been through Utah, however, have never stopped at the national parks and the beauty that lies within. Evening in Springdale Upon our arrival at La Verkin, Utah, we headed to the town of Springdale before taking in the sites of Zion National Park.

Welcome to a New Blogging Series! If you have been following the blog, I has completed a series on waterfalls and on landmarks. Of course, I can always go to a new landmark!! The new series is the beautiful National Parks and visiting a national park is such an eye-opening experience. You are in the beauty of nature and getting great exercise at the same time! So why did I choose the national parks? They are spread out across the country although a huge concentration is in the West. Many Americans can easily access the national parks and not all of the parks require an admission fee.
