This was fascinating (unlike that story about some dude who pretends to be dead to join his lover in the republic of Georgia - which is not surprising at all)!

From @theathletic.com: LeBron James will make nearly four times as much promoting the Polymarket prediction market as he will from playing basketball. The deal may not break NBA rules, but it raises uncomfortable questions.

Best part of this muddled article by one of Bloomberg's money guys is that two of the charts make a compelling case that knee-jerk opposition to AI is wholly justified because technological progress doesn't increase productivity, it just enables greater income extraction by capital. Oops!

Wasn't sure how to explain that we already have many Savita Halappanavars

Pretty clear to me there’s a very good case against this man for mass murder, and I’m saying that in as measured a fashion as I can. He’s order the killing of 234 people under no plausible war or legal justification. I am skeptical he will ever face legal accountability for til his but he should.

Very telling that a year into the maritime murders, the Trump admin has not:
--released the OLC permission slip for the killing spree
--allowed Hill staff counsel (as opposed to members) to see the memo
--defended strikes in court (admin handed off survivors rather than detain or prosecute them)

Very real killing in a make-believe war.
