STEPHEN MOORE: We had much much higher inflation under Biden

BERMAN: Let me stop you. Has inflation gone up or down since Trump took office?

MOORE: Well, it was about 3.2% when Biden left office, it's 3.4% now

BERMAN: So it's gone up

MOORE: That is true

Kemi Badenoch condemned Reform's ban on critical journalists covering their conference as "authoritarian", saying her own party would never do the same as "we believe in free speech. We believe in a free press."

Now the Conservatives have banned Byline Times from their conference

The ban comes just weeks after the Conservative leader called Reform's barring of critical journalists from their conference an "authoritarian" attack on the free press

The logic works out like this:

1) End of triple lock: you might be a couple hundred quid a year worse off. Maybe.

2) National care service: you won't have to sell the house, the car, and go through pretty much all your savings if you need looking after in your old age.

Seeing people post about how unfair the “mob justice” against the Cornell rapists is doesn’t really move me when there is no justice for survivors. The system doesn’t work; it enacts further punishment on the victims. Society is even crueler. So spare me the “mob justice” rhetoric about the accused

Really good thread from the Pensions minister on how Labour will fight back on Tory opposition to changing the triple lock. The bit about it meaning working into your 70's before you get a pension is pretty smart - largely because it's true.
The Conservative Party debated for a couple of hours and decided that no, they are not a serious party. Inevitably.

something extraordinary is happening on Garvaghy Road Northern Ireland.

Decent minded protestants & unionists have started to come out to support the Garvaghy residents, against the Orange Order parade madness. This is truly extraordinary.

I’ve been fascinated lately that we seem to be in a period where ppl are administrating & conducting sex offences, as well as on end-to-end encrypted services, on *facebook*.

Like, they don’t feel the need to go to great efforts to hide it - to police investigate and *immediately* there it all is.
“It’s not ALL men.”

It didn’t get shut down until a woman discovered and exposed it.

How have I never seen this before? It’s fantastic! The music is brilliant. That cold winter of 1962-3.
Every time someone links to this film, I have to repost it. It's one of the most significant bits of British 20th century art. Everything about it is incredible. Groundbreaking music production by Daphne Oram. Amazing camera work by Wolfgang Suschitzky (who later filmed Get Carter).-

Not to harp on this, but one man has now coordinated the disruption of a port, two separate attacks on the RNLI, and interference with the border force and the police have no further questions? And the Home Secretary has not noticed?
The man who filmed himself stabbing one, with a person on board, is still seemingly at large.

Great to hear the PM say “We are going to be much prouder in standing up for our values and the rule of law” re foreign information warfare. I wonder if he or the Home Secretary might consider doing the same when it comes to masked vigilantes shutting down infrastructure and harassing the RNLI

There are so many crimes in this thread you have to wonder what the police and Home Secretary think they are doing at this point.
