Around 75 students tested their science skills at VIDO’s Amazing Biotech Race booth during Global Biotech Week!🧬

They classified pathogens from CL1–4 and used hidden powder + a black light to see how easily pathogens can spread.

VIDO is hiring a Research Technician to join Dr. Bettin’s research group studying how the immune system protects pigs from infectious diseases.

New funding supports VIDO research on emerging viruses.

Dr. Bryce Warner @brycewarner1.bsky.social is advancing vaccines for high-consequence bunyaviruses, while Dr. Arinjay Banerjee @banerjeelab.ca is studying coronaviruses in bats.

VIDO was glad to take part in the @cepi.net CLN-PMN Joint Face-to-Face Meeting in Cape Town this week.

It was a great chance to connect with global lab partners and talk quality, biosecurity and sustainability, including through a panel on barriers and sustainability in lab work.
