These "online safety bills" are utterly moronic. Makes me glad VPNs & social media sites outside of US jurisdiction exist.
We need to show those lawmakers that we mean business when we say that we demand that those terrible "online safety" bills that "rein in big tech" must NEVER be passed! We've got until the 13th till lawmakers return, so let's get that actions counter to 600,000 & beyond! bsky.app/profile/figh...
KOSA IS NOT LAW. They're still pushing two different versions of this bill. The best thing we can do is take our frustration and make it clear to Congress that we won't let this pass in silence. Senate KOSA is still live, as always you can take action @ badinternetbills.com

While the fact that this variant passed the house, the other fact remains that the house & senate can't agree on which variant should pass both chambers. So hey, at least we've got some chaos on our side.
Kids’ safety package wins House approval

I guess even some of those idiotic supporters didn't take too kindly to the fact that their "hero" is working on that package that includes provisions on blocking state AI regulation laws. punchbowl.news/article/tech...

Another way to help ensure that those disaster bills never get to pass is to inform everyone about the many wrongdoings of the tech companies backing/endorsing those bills. After all, if people can't trust those companies, then they can't trust those bills.

If you're afraid that some data broker jackals may have your data out there, just find Incogni to hunt down whoever may have such data. Or if you need something that doesn't cost anything, use DataPurge. So needless to say, no data online = much harder for them to surveil you.

The best ways to fight those "kids online safety" bills involves calling all possible reps & anyone else you can contact as well as informing them of all of the terrible weaknesses in each bill in the package. Such as the unchangeable biometrics which will ruin your lives if they get stolen.

The KIDS act & it's associated package bills are getting closer to the finish line, but the fight still isn't over yet. @fightforthefuture.org's page at www.badinternetbills.com makes it easy to contact your reps on the matter. Don't forget to mention the ai de-regulation bills too.
