Copper = “AI metal” is not just a slogan.
The correlation with Nasdaq/Big Tech is real and it’s showing: structural demand (data centers, electrification, networks) + tight supply = price support even with macro uncertainty.

The carry trade is still alive and well. As long as the interest rate differential with the U.S. and Europe remains wide, the yen will struggle to find a solid floor.

Now is not whether the BoJ will raise rates further… but whether it will do so quickly enough to halt the currency’s decline.
The Bank of Japan raises interest rates… and the yen plummets to its highest level since 1995. The BoJ raised rates by 0.25 percentage points to 1.25% (a 31-year high). The market didn’t buy the message: the yen weakened sharply and surpassed ¥157 per USD.

We each have a deep human need to bring value to others, to know that our days meant something.

As the poet Tagore wrote, “I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted, and behold, service was joy.”

When we lift others, we rise ourselves.

Historically, it is the toughest month for the stock markets: the indexs have consistently closed in the red.

The first big test for markets will likely by Friday’s nonfarm payrolls report. After the past few softer releases, investors will want to see some resilience in the August tally.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite each clocked their best August since 2021, despite Monday’s end-of-month slide.

Not to be outdone, the Dow marked a milestone of its own by rising for 15 out of 16 months for the first time since 1936, according to Dow Jones Market Data.

End of August.

💰 Indexes notched for the month gains, as Wall Street began to take advantage of the drop in artificial intelligence stocks, buying the AI stock dip in late July. Things might not come so easy in September.

“Therefore, explain why a wise person shouldn’t get drunk—not with words, but by the facts of its ugliness and offensiveness. It’s most easy to prove that so-called pleasures, when they go beyond proper measure, are but punishments.” — Senecs, Moral Letters

Monday stocks turned in a mixed performance to kick off the week, with jitters around a number of big-picture issues—artificial intelligence exposure, the latest uptick in a potential trade war with Canada, and the new plans to isolate Iran—weighing on momentum.

Opinion: these threats of "total economic war" work more as political pressure than as a real long-term tool. Iran has been sanctioned for years and keeps selling. The test will be whether China and the region give in… or adapt once again.
The underlying problem is not just Iran. It's whether the U.S. can still impose total isolation in a multipolar world. China has already absorbed sanctioned oil before.

How much further can Washington escalate without damaging itself?
