Gob Emperor on the Golden Throne

#Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth
A goblin is sitting on the golden throne, based on the classic John Blanche artwork of the Golden Throne. Many cables are plugged into the goblins head who is also sporting a nifty mechanical left eye. The throne is covered in purity seals, skulls, candles and even a little rat at the front. It's painted in a variety of brown, orange, red and sandy tones with a lot of texture. A servo skull is on the right hand side, holding an open book. The backdrop is a hand painted depiction of many cables in the same colour scheme A goblin is sitting on the golden throne, based on the classic John Blanche artwork of the Golden Throne. Blue Monday 'Nothing Ever Happens in this City'

#Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth
Azria the Neo-fawn living in her apartment on the edge of 44th and Drazus Way, sits bored and despondent after another quiet day in Neons Edge City. Feeling the Monday Blues, she listens to the pumping sound of the Synth Wave and ponders when it will be time for some excitement. Two pics merged into one, the front of her apartment building and a secondary shot from behind her in her bedroom, posters adorning the walls as she signs sitting on the edge of the bed gazing out into the pink light of the 24hr storemat across the street. While Azria sits bored she is oblivious to the carnage about to erupt beneath her window, as the Blue Raptors Gang dares intrude into the territory of the Pink Sinners home turf, seeming innocently enough at first to visit the store, but loose words and angry voices pick up and the hot headed Mazuki of the Raptors rushes to engage the swift Lumi of the Pink Sinners under the street light while the rest of their gangs prepare to enter the fray. Other citizens either look on with bemusement or make their way quickly home. The main pic of the diorama, the entrance to the store with the two rival gangs facing off against each other in the street, a swirl of colours about them as neon signs and lights illuminate the gangs from different angles, while up on the roofs others watch on. As the fight is about to begin the Blue Raptors leader Varak ignites his power gauntlets striding forward to support Mazuki in her fight, by the doorway of the store the leader of Pink Sinners Catrana sits on her bike and cocks back the safety on her shotgun aware of what is about to go down and looking desperately for the Raptor Psi Yvona and her focusing orb, taking her down quickly is key to winning the fight. This pic centres on the bus shelter outside the Store and the selection of Raptors who had been sitting near it when their initial arrival seemed more cordial and a chance to grab snacks from the store, but the untimely arrival of the Sinners to their favourite spot has lead to the dramatic escalation, from this angle you can see more of the light effects on the characters. In the alley down from the store Drudge the Cybermech of the Raptors is tagging the bin, enjoying himself he is blissfully unaware that Juji, one of King Elvron of the Sinners, Cat Girls is taking off her jacket in preparation of kicking his ass. In the shadow of the store doorway the night clerk Nikki waves at the other members of the Sinners not noticing the carnage about to erupt. The final shoot is from the side showing the small alley that runs away from the Store entrance way, where one lone member of the Raptors is using a spray can distracted and not realising their evening down on 44th is about to turn a lot more serious.

"Umapyoi! Umapyoi! Umapyoi!" The earth starting shaking and I looked up at Colonel Corbec in confusion. He was smiling. Then he started laughing. "You hear that lads?" He shouted, above the lasfire. "The fething cavalry's here!" Beneath it is a picture of the anime horse girl on which the painted miniature is based. Entry 9 by @tammi.bsky.social

Squesh the Deep One Herald points out all the interesting things you can see before being sacrificed to the Master of the Deep.
Squesh pointing to his scroll list. It is written in blood. How this dried under the sea is a mystery that will not be revealed to you. There are glowing green eggs at his feet and he is accompanied by his starfish companion, Sebastian. Squesh points out the items of local interest including the Deepsun Altar, the Drowned Milestone and the bloody great red Trapped Seamine behind him. A close-up of Squesh with glowing eggs all around him, even under the broken Altar. To his left is the Drowned Milestone, where Sebastian's starfish friends live. Squesh indicating the colourful local flora surrounding the pillar of the Deepsun Altar, with a blue coral and a cluster of eggs beginning to cover Davy Jones' Locker. In the foreground is a Foundered Rowboat. Squesh hopes you enjoyed your tour and wishes you a pleasant journey home and perhaps you'll come back and visit again, only kidding, it's sacrifice time for you. Sebastian wriggles with silent starfish laughter.

"Miyazaki KRE Transmissions (or, to those in the know, Big Laura's Trans Missions)."

#Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth
Photo of a Hot Wheels scale (roughly 1/64ish) light industrial unit set up as a Gaslands team HQ/pit lane garage. This is Myazaki KRE Transmissions (or to those in the know, Big Laura's Trans Missions), the main workshop of Kaiju Racing Enterprises, a Miyazaki racing team on the Gaslands circuit. It is modelled on the kind of standalone light industrial unit that you will find everywhere in the UK (and probably across Europe), with a brick-built first storey and a steel-framed and clad upper half. The unit has a personnel door to the right of the picture, labelled "Reception," and a large roller shutter to the left (both doors are painted grey). The building sits on a large concrete plinth, separated into square blocks with expansion joints. The whole building is very run-down, with obvious rust issues on the upper parts of the building, cracked concrete on the forecourt, gravel aggregating against the walls and greenery sprouting from every crevice. There is a sign above the roller shutter that says in metallic blue allcaps text with a blue drop shadow "Transmissions & Auto Repair - Customs - Racing" and has the Mastercard, Visa and anarcho-communist logos to the right of the sign. Over the reception window and door is a sign reading "Miyazaki - Service - Brakes - KRE Gaslands Racing Specialists" and a phone number- 01634- KAIJU-R. In front of the forecourt is a protective divider, with its own kerb. On top of the divider is gravel and coarse grass. There is apparently a race either on or about to start from in front of the garage, with a number of cars (including KRE's own Dwagon and Godzilla) lined up in front of it. There are a number of cars parked around the garage, and just visible to the rear right of the image is a pile of half-stripped car bodies. The main image (to the right) is is a rear quarter view of the garage showing the two sides not visible in the first image. More of the heavily-weathered walls and roof are visible, including patchy paint repairs here and there. There are two windows along the side of the building, and another two at the rear, between two additional personnel doors, both of which are grey with "No Entry" written on them in bright yellow all-caps. The concrete plinth has been ground down to provide a wheelchair ramp up to each door for accessibility (the weapons officer in one of KRE's cars is disabled, and Big Laura's quite sharp on accessibility). On the left hand side of the building is a stand-pipe feeding the sink and boiler inside the building, as well as the drain pipe coming from the sink and a crude concrete drain leading away from the building. At the upper left of the image is a detail photo showing this stand pipe and drain, along with the door next to it. On the right hand side of the building is another stand pipe with a tap on it, for use outside the building with a hose pipe (for cleaning cars etc). On the lower left is another detail photo, showing the stand pipe and the weeds that have grown up around its base. This picture shows the interior of the unit. At top left is an isometric view of the unit with the roof taken off and the office roof/mezzanine floor removed to reveal as much of the interior as possible. Some of the broad strokes are visible, including the two four-post lifts in the main shop, the mechanism for the roller-shutter door and some of the interior walls etc in the office; notable in this photo also is a set of fire extinguishers just inside the roller shutter on the far side of the entrance, though they aren't fully in focus. Top centre is a top-down layout photo of the whole interior showing the forecourt to the left, office & reception bottom centre and the shop floor layout. Top right is a top-down shot of the workshop area of the shop floor, showing the sink and boiler to the left, two tool chests and the work bench with pillar drill and bench grinder at the top, bin at top right and a low-entry trolley jack and a wheel balancing machine at bottom right. Below the top centre and top right images in a row from L to R is a detail of the fridge under the sink (with "Stop Stealing My Cheese" written on it), a detail of the trolley jack, a detail of the bench tools and a wider shot of the whole shop floor from a lower angle. Below that are two isometric shots of the workshop area from different angles (including one showing the ladder/stairs up to the mezzanine floor) and a detail shot of the sink, with one mug in the sink and one drying on the counter. To the lower left are a number of detail shots of the office & reception area showing the clock, calendar, manager's desk with PC and screens, fire extinguishers, break table (including kettle, tea & coffee jars, sugar, mugs and one and a half plates of cookies) and reception desk with all-in-one printer/fax/phone unit. To the bottom right of the image is a view upward into the rafters, showing two engine hoists mounted to solid beams and a number of fluorescent light fittings. This image has a number of atmospheric shots of the unit. Top left is a shot through the roller shutter with the interior lights off. There's a muscle car on the short ramp with the engine hoist posed just above & in front of its open engine bay, and there are two transmission lifts (tall jacks for use with the four-post lifts when they are at full height) next to the office wall. The roller shutter chain is also visible to the right of the photo. Top right is an exterior shot from a high angle showing the Dwagon (Big Laura's car) to the left and Godzilla (Jeff's car) to the left (with a Mazda MX-3 in racing livery visible in the background). Centre left is a shot into the roller shutter past Godzilla, showing the muscle car on the ramp again (with the engine hoist hook visible as well). Lower left is a shot through the roller shutters into the back corner of the workshop, with the interior lights on. This shot shows the fire extinguisher set in the rear corner clearly, along with a number of the tool chests and a small workbench (note the Miyazaki logo monograms on the tool chests). Bottom right is a shot showing the unit interior, with a KPGC110 Nissan Skyline "Kenmeri" GT-R up on the long lift (with no wheels) and the muscle car low on the short lift. The mezzanine above the office is visible to the bottom of the photo, showing the Kenmeri's wheels, one of the Dwagon's spare weapon turrets and the mezzanine hand rail. A long workbench with another one of the Dwagon's turrets on it and a number of tool chests are visible to the right. You can also just about see part of the big blue bench clamp but it's mostly hidden behind the short lift.

A low view down a wide alley full of leaking trash bags, broken pallets and forgotten shipments. Pizza boxes, recycled packaging and all kinds of dirt and trash litter the alley. Tags and names scrawled on the walls of the rundown, filthy buildings with the painted name of the Escher Matriarch of the Chemtown Blades herself overseeing it all. A higher, diagonal view of the whole alley. More of the trash can be seen from this angle, some piled up, some scattered. The sides of the two smaller buildings can be seen more clearly on the right. Dirty cardboard and other rubbish is scattered and piling up at the foot of the back wall and bulging refuse sacks spill from the gap between the two low, dirty buildings. A narrow, high view of the alley from above. The bright circle of a spotlight pierces the gloom, illuminating the filthy floor just outside the back entrance to the club, maybe from a searching hover. The Enforcers are looking for someone. Colours and shadow as the club's rear door opens, red light spilling from the recessed doorway on the left, lights visible on the rooftop above. Behind the graffitti-covered wall rise the corroded stacks belching smoke and filth into what passes for air around here.

Those Styrofoam Cactuses

#Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth
Several warhammer ork models are placed in a battle scene between several of the cactuses. An array of warhammer cactuses made of styrofoam balls, toothpicks stuck in, and covered in sand for texture. The bodies are painted in a gradient of dark green to near yellow and the spikes are painted from red to orange. One of the cactuses that I have nicknamed The Snowman due to it being three spheres of decreasing sizes stack on top of each other A work in progress picture of the cactuses. White foam sphere glued to their base and toothpicks inserted, before texture sand was applied to them.
