Call me old fashioned, but I don’t think my cell phone company should be recommending banking options to me?

B-side on PUP's "Concrete" single - "If This Is It" - is solid, but I was a little disappointed it wasn't a Huey Lewis cover.

If the Democrats let Republicans have this INSANELY easy W, I am going to be apoplectic. This shit polls like chlamydia. Get on the other side of it now and be loud about it.
DeSantis also says datacenters are unpopular on both the left and the right. If you have followed this guy's career, this is something worth taking note of. He would not be coming out early like this if he didn't see a big political problem coming down the road.

Get your bosses in line @bobbyscott.house.gov, @kaine.senate.gov, & @markwarner.bsky.social. And/or yourselves if you're pussyfooting around this.
What blows my mind is that Democrats 100% understand the idea of "oh man, we don't want to have our members out there defending [unpopular thing], that'd be horrible!" But they refuse to understand that making Republicans defend Trump would be WONDERFUL for Democrats. bsky.app/profile/aman...
New: A surge in calls among Democrats to pursue Trump’s impeachment is hitting a wall with party leaders, who believe it will distract from their midterm focus on costs and corruption, according to interviews with over a dozen Democrats.
Some also view 25th Amendment as a nonstarter

NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.

I’m just going to tag all my representatives here because it should be looked at federally, but definitely at the state level. @kaine.senate.gov @markwarner.bsky.social @bobbyscott.house.gov @bonitaganthony.bsky.social and @warren.senate.gov (you’re not my rep, but seems up your alley)
For years I've been looking for the right guest to do a pod on this. The car-sales model that is dictated by law in the US -- you must go to a dealership & suffer for hours in order to buy one -- is one of the most nakedly anti-social special interest giveaways in history. Needs to be killed dead.
US car dealers hate EVs because EVs need a lot less maintenance

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

A few months ago, ICE hired me

I didn't sign and submit any paperwork. I almost certainly failed the drug test. I'm real outspoken about my opposition to the Trump administration, and I am extremely googlable

And yet, there it was, in plain English. "Welcome to ICE!"

You’ve Heard About Who ICE Is Recruiting. The Truth Is Far Worse. I’m the Proof.
What happens when you do minimal screening before hiring agents, arming them, and sending them into the streets? We're all finding out.
