I know some of these players are not on the active roster, but still, this is crazy! On paper, that's like a third of their team! A small part of me wishes Blankenburg was a part of the Marchenko deal today.
I am reminded of that line as @brianhedger.bsky.social notes that the Leafs have acquired (and here I quote Hedge):
- Bobrovsky
- Marchenko
- Roslovic
- Elvis
- Wood
- Domi
- Blankenburg (not a former cancer but still a castoff)

Interesting that all three teams they say are linked to Marchenko are the same three Canadien teams that are linked to everyone else rumored to be traded.

I really liked Marchenko...until now. It's clear he wants out. And it ticks me off. He is no longer a Blue Jacket in my eyes. He is a just a guy wearing a Blue Jackets jersey (due to contract obligation) who will (hopefully) help the Blue Jackets win games until the day he is traded. #CBJ

I just want ONE good piece of CBJ news. ONE. It has been a barrage of crap since last season ended. It is like a bad TV series. You hang in there, hoping it will get better with each episode. But it never does...so you give up on it. This is EXHAUSTING. #CBJ
Unsigned RFA Adam Fantilli was not present at the Columbus Blue Jackets pre-training camp golf outing, per Aaron Portzline 👀⛳️

I'll be honest. I did not care for McElligott's broadcasting style. At all. It was hard for me to listen on the radio without getting irritated with him. But that said, he seemed like a nice enough guy and the decision to use TV broadcast audio for radio is not a good idea IMHO. #CBJ

I guess with Lundestrom injured, Don decided he needed SOMEONE to play on the first or second line who has no business being there.
This is beyond infuriating. Essentially walking back the same damn team as last season. #CBJ

So one good regular season and he/his agent thinks he should become one of the top 10 highest paid goaltenders in the NHL. *smh*

Could someone explain this to me? I was poking around Puckpedia and noticed that after next season, Sean Monahan has a no movement clause AND a 15-team no trade list. What am I missing? How could he have both? Doesn't the no-move clause negate the need for a no-trade clause? #CBJ

Just saw this on Reddit. If it's legit, Lundestrom may be out for most or all of the season. #CBJ

Will someone in the media please just flat out ask Don Waddell "what are you doing to improve this team?" If his answer isn't "nothing," then he is either lying or incompetent or both. #CBJ

Holy cow the Jackets did something right.
#CBJ made Trent Vogelhuber’s promotion to the NHL bench as an assistant official
today. They also announced the hiring of longtime ECHL and AHL coach Nick Bootland as Cleveland Monsters head coach.

Last day Don can trade Conor Garland. Just saying.
If he doesn't, he is here for 6 years at 6 million per. 🙄
Technically he has a 15-team no-trade list that kicks in in 2029.

Based on last 24 hours, I now think it's IMPERATIVE the Jackets trade Conor Garland before his no-movement clause kicks in in a few days. Get a bag of pucks for him, I don't care. I didn't think he was a long term answer before yesterday and DEFINITELY don't think he's worth it now. #CBJ

I texted my son about the Blues getting MacTavish and how I hoped the Jackets would get him. His response at least made me smile:
"Why bother getting anyone who isn't a 33 year old father of two at this point?"
