Whales and dolphins are still being bred in captivity.

This Orcatober, we’re exposing why this cruel practice must end.

Let’s make this generation of captive whales and dolphins the last.

Earlier this week, the T36s and T137A "Jack" were seen sharing a large prey item for several hours. We've not been able to confirm exactly what they were feeding on, but there's speculation it could have been a minke whale. 😬

Good news. 😊The pressure is working - Iceland's government announces plan for a bill to end whale hunts. But how long will it be before the cruelty stops? 👇

20 years ago the world lost an incredible man. In terms of being a conservationist, he was a role model when I was young, only it took me a while to realize it. If Steve Irwin inspirational to you too, consider supporting the organization that he co-founded - wildlifewarriors.org.au
Wildlife Warriors - Global Conservation
Wildlife Warriors was established in 2002 by Steve and Terri Irwin as a way to include and involve other caring people to support the protection of injured, threatened or endangered wildlife.

This weekend our next whale news edition drops on youtube, and we are recording the podcast tomorrow, a week early.

The news video is finished, but I just saw an article about a common dolphin in australia being infected with bird flu. Next whale news, we are going to cover this big topic.

I was fortunate that during my Salish Sea visit in June/July, to find myself on a boat with Sara and Monika from @orcabehaviorinstitute.org You won't see much on my vlog, my photography that day was dreadful! (bad settings, excitement etc.), but trust me, I learnt so much, and it was so memorable!

Orca of the Month: T046 Wake.

To cut a long story short, T046 was one of 6 Bigg's orcas that was captured. Her capture sparked outrage, and lead to them being freed and captures banned in Washington. She survived to go on to have a large and robust family. More in Orcawatch. (Photos - T46Bs, T123s)

This issue is more serious than I thought. It's news to me that it is genuinely being proposed. See @afterthebreach.bsky.social ep 55. They explore the issue better than me!
