Jesus fucking Christ.
Forth Ports pulling out of the Rosyth-Europe ferry link deal, effectively scrapping direct sea routes from Scotland to Europe, is heartbreaking. Brexit barriers and red tape continue to sever vital Scottish trade and travel links. Why stay isolated from Europe? 🤔 #FBPE

Just hours after being branded a 'ghetto' by Reform UK's Thomas Kerr, Glasgow’s Govanhill has been named the fifth coolest neighbourhood in the world

Govanhill placed higher than neighbourhoods in cities such as New York, Rio de Janeiro, and Bangkok

The entire point of the Sir Keir project was explicitly that he *would not* interfere with the engine on the gravy train: he was pitched as the guy to steady the ship, slap on some fresh paint and bring together a new Sensible coalition of moderates that would together stomp down the left.

Already the BBC and all the other media hoors have given this racist backwater 10 times the coverage of all 3 devolved leaders meeting on Monday to demand the right to choose their own future and fuck this comedy racist nonsense UK into the sun and/or dustbin of history where it belongs.
If Totnes decided, in an unofficial referendum, to join the EU, I wonder how many pages of coverage the BBC would give to a cat that can play a banjo?

My latest blog piece. I signed the @believeinscotland.bsky.social petition calling for a referendum and my local Labour MP replied with an email full of lies. Labour claims there was a cross-party consensus for the 2014 indyref. No such consensus existed.

It would be more humane to just feed the whole BBC news and current affairs department slowly into a vat of boiling acid.

Better value and entertainment for the licence payers too.

I suggest that a country that elects Boris Johnson then Keir Starmer on crushing landslides, who become reviled public enemies within 18 months and have to be booted out by the same media outlets that fought to put them in power in the first place, has some pretty serious Democracy Issues.

Oh yes, can you imagine if state-aligned media in Britain spent years broadcasting terrifying war propaganda and incitement against political opposition, stirring up hatred against foreigners and domestic rivals and the government then began arresting dissidents on trumped up charges.

In retrospect, we’ll see the key trend of the era was an elite revolt by the very rich, politicians and media employees against the idea there should be *any limits at all* on their behaviour, up to and including strangers publicly criticising them. All presented as The Wisdom Of The Average Punter.

This is the bind the whole system finds itself in: they want vicious far right politics and relentless hate campaigns, but urgently need to stamp down the most popular far right party because if Reform win, they will steal all the money and start giving orders to real people who actually matter.

Interesting piece about growing unease over the repeat spoiler tactics Reform and the Tel have been taking over big stories.

Notable that Ben Riley Smith has criticised it, given that he was until fairly recently political editor of the Telegraph
NEW: Reform again accused of leaking the Telegraph a story it had been approached about by another outlet.

This “spoiler” tactic is causing concerns among some at the Tel.

Insiders say this isn’t fair - reporters didn’t know it was a spoiler.
