This is what progress looks like. As technology matures it becomes more efficient. Yet we have so much wailing and gnashing of teeth by people who want everything, want it now, want to make no sacrifices
YAY, my old digs Whitelee Windfarm by ScottishPower Renewables is being repowered and extended! 💪
The existing 215 turbines will be replaced in three phases with around 124, each of which will be about 110m (361ft) taller

Whitelee Windfarm near Glasgow to be rebuilt with fewer, larger turbines
Whitelee Windfarm has been producing electricity for about 20 years on a stretch of moorland near Eaglesham but is reaching the end of its life.

This morning, 28 onshore wind projects with a total capacity of 1,306MW were awarded a CfDs in Allocation Round 7 at a strike price of £72.24 per (MWh). Onshore wind is much more cost-effective for billpayers than new generation from gas at £147/MWh and new nuclear power at £124/MWh ⚡ 📉

UK Wind Power has rallied to 19.9GW this morning. With 0.9GW of Solar we are burning 2.3GW of Gas as well as exporting 0.3GW. Hydro is 0.3GW. Nuclear is 3.9GW and the awful Biomass 1GW The price of wholesale electricity over the past 24 hours was £66 per MWh. #renewables
