Why is BLACK RIVER ORCHARD three bucks at your chosen ebookmonger? I don't know! But it is! So if you really want to embrace both apple season and spooky season, I have a horror novel about evil apples infecting a small town with their sinister apple magic. I hope you check it out.

I'm old enough to remember when the internet insisted Graham Platner was the only person who could defeat Collins.
Maine - Senate Polling:

🔵 Jackson: 51%
🔴 Collins: 44%*

Happy book day to Wole Talabi's THE FIST OF MEMORY!
The day is finally upon us!
THE FIST OF MEMORY is officially out NOW in the US and Canada.
This near-future story of assassins, aliens, astrophysicists and ancestors that I started 15 years ago, is finally out in the world & it still feels a bit unreal.

I absolutely loved @wiswell.bsky.social's The Dragon Has Some Complaints and Zura Johnson's bravura audiobook narration. Dragons aren't often my thing (Tooth & Claw being another exception), but I adored all three personalities of this three-headed dragon. (I might love Upperhead most of all?)

Just finished this last night. It's pretty amazing. The line "Shesheshen did not know how to go on a date. It was easier to regrow her severed limbs, but perhaps that was because she had experience regrowing lost parts of herself" made me feel deeply understood.
I’m best known for Someone You Can Build A Nest In, which won the Locus and Nebula awards. It follows a shapeshifting monster who *accidentally* falls in love with the human who’s hunting her.

It's also explicitly about realizing you're ace, and realizing how much of your life you don't want.

Trans rep, queer kinship, non-toxic masculinity, and the hard work of consciously making oneself into a better person--even after committing sins so deep you can ever again be the same person you once were

This is a fantastic book and I deeply loved reading it!
Wearing the Lion follows a Heracles so traumatized by what the Furies made him do that he refuses any more violence. This makes his upcoming twelve labors… tricky.

But on the plus side: he starts building a found family of monsters.

(Yes, we've got a few ace gods and monsters in here.)

It's Asexual Awareness & Acceptance Week!

So... hi! I'm an ace author who lives in the woods. Asexuality isn't a lack of joy; I just find joy elsewhere. I love Horror, and Fantasy, and kaiju, and puns, and most of all: books.

Do y’all like books?

Even among people who use AI, nobody wants somebody else's slop. They like using AI to get out of doing work for other people. Use it for them instead of doing work, and they're not so happy.
China’s first AI-generated theatrical feature has flopped, earning just $181,000 in its first weekend.

By contrast, the scrappy ‘Niu Lai’ turned its crude animation into a viral attraction, grossing nearly $10 million a couple of months ago.
