Farmers, unions & food leaders across NY urge Governor Kathy Hochul to sign the Good Food NY Bill (S7638B/A8091B). This bill would let NY farms sell more to local public institutions by updating outdated procurement laws that hurt NY farms, jobs & communities.

If your loved one is ill in NY, you can take paid family leave to care for them. But if you're ill, the state's outdated paid medical leave program forces you to survive off $170/week. Moms First and Bobbie are calling for change in Empire Report NY: https://ow.ly/QEBb50Z5Ec8

Nonprofits can’t help communities while waiting on money they’re owed by the state. That puts essential services at risk across NY. Tell lawmakers to fix nonprofit contracting and ensure organizations get paid on time. Take action here:

NY's paid medical leave program is woefully outdated. "The result is a system that forces people into impossible choices and financial crises," write @inimai.bsky.social @abetterbalance.org and @garrar26.bsky.social @citizenactionny.org in a new op ed: https://ow.ly/if0q50Z2qNu
Commentary: Could you live on $170 a week? That's all paid medical leave offers.
New York’s paid medical leave program is stuck in 1989. Pass legislation to increase the benefit and help sick and injured workers avoid financial crises while they recover.
