On this FlipFlappiversary I guess I should mention that I have a blog (untouched for 8 years) that among other things has an index of articles and interviews about Flip Flappers. Including some by myself

Love how her concept was "What if we gave a bird-feeding granny at the park an AT-ST" and the mech is a park bench, the bombs are teacups, and the missiles are pigeons

I've had similar speculations to this for a while. I do sympathize – I imagine Fate/Extra's reputation as the game you have to experience but must play as little as possible must hurt – but casting off a career at Square Enix? He must have really been haunted by Extra

comun posted some speculation yesterday that the dev problems were due to niinou essentially being willing to take any risk to his career to make Extra perfect this time but ofc the publishers were like thats cool but we're not taking those risks with you www.tumblr.com/kaibutsushid...

If Fate/Extra wasn't such a niche title Record would be such an interesting thing to discuss in the discourse of video game remakes. One of the rare examples of a remake being made not to cash in on nostalgia, but because the original creators thought this shit was unplayable lmao

Interviewer: And all your hard work paid off! Fate/Extra's battle system was excellent!
Guy that designed Fate/Extra's battle system: Thank you, we worked very hard on it through multiple iterations. The final result was ass though.

A lot of Vesperia is stuff randomly happening in the main story and 2/10 plot threads getting closed shortly after, while 8/10 are closed in sidequests. It makes the game feel strangely... episodic? Like you're playing an adventure anime with only barely an overarching plot

like not just in narrative role, he is specifically the kind of dumb pinnacle-of-power figure who is seen as being overly indulgent in his time spent merrymaking with people below him, towards largely personal worldsaving schemes that rely on character readings of children from evil lineages
