finally sharing the piece i did for @worldbeyondzine.bsky.social, a bit of cockatrice DIY
Digital illustration of a trans man seated at a work desk, busily sewing bat wings onto a rooster as he tries to create a cockatrice from scratch. There are books on the desk with the titles "Cockatrice Husbandry for Beginners" and "Resurrection Made Easy."

my piece for the wonderful @worldbeyondzine.bsky.social zine! I dunno why my brain decided that fae + beetles + cowboys was the way to go, but I love how this came out~ so happy I could be part of this!

My illustration for @worldbeyondzine.bsky.social. The zine raised over a thousand dollars for Rainbow Railroad! The whole zine is a work of trans celebration, joy, pride, and fierceness and you should check it out. <3

| #mossrottarts | #transmasc | #fantasyart |
An illustration of a centaur done in hues of purple, teals, and greys with some yellow highlights. The horse half is a dappled grey with black tail and hooves; the human half is armored in dark, shiny metal. He holds a sword that is more of a shard of light, of which the colors of the trans flag are layered throughout. He has tears rolling off his face--but his expression is fiercely determined.

Since it's out now I can post the art I made for @worldbeyondzine.bsky.social's latest zine! I wanted to make art of an elderly transmasc person wearing a binder of some kind and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out 😎 #art #fantasy
Digital illustration of an elderly druid wearing a leather binder that's held in place with a ribcage-like construction. He is wearing a half-mask with stag horns poking out from a green hood, and has a grey beard. He's holding a wooden staff decorated with a curling horn, moss, lavender and a bright teal crystal from which magical mist eminates. This magic is also reflected in the three spectral wolves that jump forward at the druid's command. They are all standing against a monochromatic backdrop of trees and foliage.

#wednesdayweeklies
Digital painting of a kneeling figure with a boyish haircut and armour inspired by Indian chihal'ta hazar masha; he looks up as a woman in an ornate dress cradles his cheek and offers him a goblet, flaming with the same magic as the cauldron to her side.

I was privileged enough to create the cover art for the fantasy edition of @worldbeyondzine.bsky.social !! Such an honor to create for such an awesome project. 🏳️‍⚧️

#FantasyArt #ArtSky
A digital painting of a satyr rocking out on a stage in a forest, leaning away from his mic into the audience. He is wearing a sleeveless leather jacket and has top surgery scars. Behind him the elven bass player is focused on their instrument, and the orcish drummer is rocking out as well. The audience is enraptured and having a good time. There's a sense of community and fun in this piece.

Thrilled to finally be able to share this piece I did for @worldbeyondzine.bsky.social

Probably one of my most ambitious pieces to date, and I'm so proud of how it came out. Maybe there's some kind of secret magic in getting to work on a project with a bunch of other cool trans creators ✨

لتكن نفسك - to become yourself

a self-portrait imagining myself as a medieval fantasy muslim alchemist for @worldbeyondzine.bsky.social ! had lots of fun researching for this. those are real alchemical devices in the back :-)
a transmasculine alchemist mashes aloe vera into gel with a mortar and pestle, while looking at an open book. behind them is an alembic and an apparatus from al-mizza distilling rose water. there are pages from a chemical manuscript and an astrology manuscript above him; plus an astrolabe and nazar amulet.

Drawing of what once was a massive 5-headed hydra looking down on a tiny knight, only just one head remains now. The other 4 heads have been removed via a selection of different magical effects, and now the final head stares wide-eyed ahead as it's zapped with a powerful blast of magic that electrifies it and seems to glitch out reality itself. As it turns out, the knight was a spellcaster all along. Text reads: Final day.
