I didn't really care about yet another Exorcist movie, even if it's from @mikeflanaganfilm.com and even if it stars ScarJo and Sasha Calle. But from this it looks specifically like a sequel to/remake of Exorcist III, which is one of my favorite movies of all time. So now I'm genuenly curious.

One thing I love about The Long Walk is how boring the titular contest is. It's not an exciting gameshow like the Hunger Games or the Squid Game for people to misinterpret its messaging or for Mr. Beast to recreate it on his YouTube channel. It's just walking. You walk until you can't. That's it.

Do You Hear the People Sing sounds very inspirational and noble if you think it's about the French Revolution, but if you know that it's actually about the June Rebellion 40 years later when a bunch of students got absolutely steamrolled by the monarchy, it really isn't all that romantic.

One frustrating aspect of Bruce Campbell's career is that he got typecast into the "lovable snarky asshole" kind of role so often that he was rarely able to really show what he can do as an actor.
And his guest appearance on Homicide: Life on the Street from 1996 is one of these rare examples.

AVATAR AANG: THE LAST AIRBENDER is very fun, exciting, and visually stunning, but I was also a little bit disappointed that the creators seemingly didn't take a lesson from the first season of Legend of Korra and yet again made the villains out of a group of non-benders in search for equality.

I really liked TEENAGE SEX AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA, but I didn't love it. Not like I loved I Saw the TV Glow. I understand and appreciate what it was going for, but it just didn't really grab me. And that's totally OK, since the movie wasn't even made for somebody like me.

I wonder if Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma was originally supposed to be a Sleepaway Camp reboot but when Schoenbrun tried to pitch it to the studio, it went probably as well as that zoom meeting in the finished movie.

Saw T2 in theater over the weekend. Had a great time and it's still one of the best movies ever made, but the 4K upscale really does feel kind of odd. The way it removes all the grain and cranks up the contrast makes everything look smooth and unnatural. And doctor Silberman is now a wax figure.
