There is no other show like @thepoduniverse.com — it’s audio fiction, it’s movie discussion, it’s a writers workshop — and that has made it really challenging to market. I know there are people out there who would love it; There are people who love it right now. But we are nowhere near sustainable.
Last year my podcast was about to be the subject of a Polygon feature, and I felt like we were finally on the brink of our “big break.” Then the site was sold and the writer was fired. (On May Day, no less!)
Our show has only gotten better but our audience remains static. I often wonder “what if?”
