Part of what makes Before Sunrise such a strong romance is there's no real 3rd act conflict trope to split up the couple. The whole movie is us watching 2 people fall in love from start to finish, or as Celine would say, finding God/magic "in this little space in between" them.

My fav by Akis. "The Bot Who Cried ‘Wolf Motherfuckers Wolf’" is great dark humor and a crit of our times.
"Surely the rich didn’t come to be wealthy by telling only lies."
I finally published something properly mature
Read this, motherf*ckers, read this!

So many fantastic stories in this issue. I am especially obsessed with @parkeriswriting.bsky.social 's flash "right here, on this spot" and how exploring the past of one place serves as an exploration of self.
Today, we’re very excited to be releasing our Oct 2026 “Paranormal Noir” issue 🎉
This collection is sure to kickstart spooky season for you with ghosts, spies, cosmic horrors and the _mostly_ dead 👻

"Missing Helen" by @tiatashiro.bsky.social is a deep introspection on "self" that ingeniously uses the 2nd person to build characters and story immersion (a lot coming from me as ordinarily I hate this POV but it really worked here). Loved it! A must read: clarkesworldmagazine.com/tashiro_07_25/

Of all the overrated movies in AFIs 100 list, American Graffiti takes the cake (so far) What are the people making this list being bribed with?
At a certain point admit you want a 2hr car advertisement and go look at a magazine (the cars were nice!)

Which flick on this list do you love to hate?

“So Many Many Awful Things Lived On; And So Did I” is it. It's the best of me. All of my heart went into this. If I never write again, this will be enough.
In “So Many Many Awful Things Lived On; And So Did I” by @yelenacrane.bsky.social, some rent their bodies to survive, while others hijack the tech to rebel in a nation at war. Driven by revenge, a woman rises through enemy ranks by leaving copies of herself behind.

Someone jump on it before it sells like hotcakes.

Are we not entertained?
Kay Vaindal is back in STP with An American Execution.

A woman travels to witness the resurrection-execution of one of the 9/11 hijackers with the daughter of her abducted neighbour and her boyfriend who claims to be an emissary from another universe.

Dark and wacky in pure Vaindal-esque fashion.

As if it's not bad enough that AI is trained on us.

Read Kings_Gambit.exe to see how much worse it can still get. Be careful, you Viktor Korchnois of today!

A dead grandmaster resurrected as an AI chessbot. Imprisonment of the digital soul. Techlords owning us forever.

Can we get a happy ending?

Thoughts on AI published & award winning works that give me solace: eventually they'll be found out. People will pikachu-face surprise, though the tells were always there.
It took 15 years for the truth to come out about Rosalind Franklin's work being stolen. See how the arc of the universe bends.

The irony of AI is it had all the potential to be a great tool. Instead, the powers that be created a tumor that feeds on the fat of our knowledge, creativity, and desire for connection.

Mystery solved? Peanut snuck in while my darling true love was unloading groceries from the car. A feeling of whimsy overtook the feline. Sure he's had the zoomies before. But this? This is new! This is wild! In a moment of idiot savantness, he locked himself inside.

So... do I drive to work?
