So if the SCP movie is based on CC-BY-SA 3.0 licensed works, and therefore is itself by necessity a CC-BY-SA 3.0 licensed work (per the terms of that license requiring it to be), it's entirely legal to torrent the movie, right?

I've been meaning to organize and catalog my own Big Box of Cables™ for awhile now. Suddenly feeling inspired to make that this weekend's project.
I just dug to the bottom of my Big Box of Cables to find two cables that I needed for something. They've been in the bottom for 10+ years. So, "when are you ever gonna use these?" was today. Don't ever let anyone take your Big Box of Cables away.

I'd be more inclined to think that if the people using AI for art were actually pushing artistic boundaries instead of (as the notion of an “AI actor” does) poorly imitating existing art forms.

Something I learned last night while Terraform-inating a one-off static site of mine (S3-website → CloudFront migration):
Regardless of the region where you created the CloudFront distribution, if you create a cert for it w/ ACM, the cert *has* to be in us-east-1 or you'll get errors.

In the enterprise world, sure, this is true. In that context, the code is a means to an end, and the emphasis should be on the criteria which that code must fulfill.
Outside of that world, though, I pretty strongly disagree with this. Implementation creativity absolutely has its place.

Creativity happens in the requirements gathering, spec, design, and architecting phase.
Implementations should be boring as fuck as as simple as possible.

One argument I see skeptics say often is "programming is a creative art too". Hot take: creativity in software engineering is a sign of something going wrong upstream, e.g. deadlines/hardware constraints/workarounds.
It's better for typical, maintainable software engineering if it *isn't* creative.

This video is further proof that soon cheaters in online multiplayer games will have AI-enabled performance enhancers (taking HDMI video and outputting mouse/keyboard events over USB/BT) and there ain't a damn thing client-side anticheat software like EAC or BattleEye would be able to do about it.
