Rock Bottom. Thats what it had felt like for Jenny. As graduation approached, the stress of having to figure out her next steps had fully paralyzed her. College was supposed to be this chance for her to fully reinvent herself and become unrecognizable for her “loser” high school self. She really had tried to change….but it wasn’t easy. Whenever she tried to strike up any conversation, the words seem to get caught in her throat. It was so much easier for her to fall back into her routine and end up studying all the time. The professors would praise her for good essays and test scores, but those words were all she really had and now it was almost all over… She was so desperate to change…but was it too late? Her negative thinking only got worse as she just kept isolating and scrolling on social media where everyone seemed to be living so much more fulfilling lives. If only it was so easy to have fun and be more confident… As if answering her prayers, the perfect ad appeared a workshop guaranteeing to change her outlook for the better! When she arrived, it was a nondescript office building in the middle of the city. As the beautiful receptionist guided her to her an empty room, she slammed cloth over her mouth and Jenny’s vision went black. She awoke to sharp pain in her arm as she could feel something slowly being injected into her. There was a strange visor over head and she couldn’t move her arms or legs that were strapped to a chair. All of a sudden images of a gorgeous girl with dirty blonde hair start flashing before her. It’s strange she looked so different, but familiar? All of a sudden, she started hearing her own voice speak to her, “That can be you if you give in?” Something about the videos drew her in, made her feel so warm and fuzzy to watch.
