It might not have been a lot of direct sunlight this afternoon, but darn it was a hot and humid day to be knocking doors to elect Democrats. I’m grateful to the man who felt sorry for me and let me come in and sit down at his kitchen counter to cool off for a little bit.

I’m not opposed to a performance audit that has been funded by the budget approved by the Metro Council. I’m disappointed that the Council didn’t give the Board of Education more advanced notice of this desire so we could’ve collaborated and worked to build this into our budget planning.

I’ve been really confused lately hearing everyone talk about NADC Burger. I am now less confused, as I have learned that it is not Nashville Auto Diesel College burger. I was starting to think people were going to a cafeteria at the college to get a burger. 🤦🏻♂️

I put 11,455 miles on my car in one year. Assuming a car got 26 MPG and the TN Gas Tax is 27.4 cents per gallon, I would’ve paid $120 in gas taxes. Since I have an EV, my contribution to the highway trust fund is $200. Dang. It goes to $274 next year.

I haven’t had time to screen grab the video from tonight‘s school board meeting, but I totally recommend going and listening to a parent at Inglewood Elementary speak about the incredible experience that his family has had as immigrants in Nashville Public Schools.
