I heard they are decent.
Nobody tell @zackdavisson.com, but despite having a couple of Gou Tanabe's manga adaptations of HP Lovecraft stories on my shelf for ages I'm only now getting around to reading them, and holy crap they're amazing.

I would ignore everything that happened after Peter Capaldi and go back to formula.

Like The Muppet Show. Realize it wasn't broken and never needed to be "fixed."

I'm a sucker; I bought the Hatsune Miku Secret Lair deck thinking the entire thing would be reskinned with Hatsune Miku cards--which would have been cool.

But it is just a regular Commander deck with a few Miku cards thrown in.

Booo.....

My mom had polio when she was five. She was living on a US military base in Japan (1947). Four kids on the base died. She was the only survivor.
“On Thursday, Mr. Gorton said that “the success of the polio vaccine was a massive medical fraud” and that widespread vaccination was a “public health disaster.” He received a standing ovation…

Mr. Kennedy spoke next, linking arms with the group even as measles cases continue to rise”

The health secretary spoke at a conference featuring misinformation about vaccines, including a claim that the success of the polio vaccines was a “fraud.”

Libraries are amazing and everyone who checks one of my books out at a library gets extra love from me.
If you genuinely believe that libraries negatively impact book sales, I don't even know what to say to you.

Back from seeing A CHORUS LINE and wow.... that was very much in the "not for me" category.

A musical with a single good song and seems to be very aware of it. It's an endurance test until the final payoff.

Would not see again.

I feel safe walking around my south Seattle neighborhood and I am 54.

42 is officially young, by the way.
Had some relatives from MO visiting me the other month and they asked if "I feel safe" walking around my north Seattle neighborhood and I was like, "yeah of course" and they were like "well, you're young".

I'm 42, guys.

Fun RCCC story: Guy is at Steve's table with his comic asking for feedback. I happen to walk up and peek over his shoulder--its a fencing comic.

Guy was not prepared for the double-whammy of comic AND fencing accuracy comments....
This weekend Sept 18-20, I'll be a guest at Granite State Comicon, artist alley, table 31.
Aspiring comics artists: Want feedback? Show me your best 6-8 pages!
It's my first visit to New Hampshire. Hope to see you all there!

I would say if there is a show you are watching and enjoying and your biggest issue is if it fits inside a meaningless marketing designation like "anime" then you have bigger problems going on in your life.
Just because it was animated in Japan, does that automatically make it anime?

Using special magic words for anime and manga in English was a mistake.

If we called them "Japanese anime" and "Japanese comics" they would be clearly defined and no need for these silly columns.

Just like Japanese food and Japanese movies.

One thing I once knew but have purged from my brain are states two-letter codes.

I might know a random smattering of them, but if you asked me to fill in a map I would fail entirely.

I asked ages ago but didn’t get much of a response so I’m taking another swing at it.

Does anyone following me either know how to read Cree or know someone who can?

Here is how age works, by the way:

1) Are you younger than me right now? - You are a child
2) Are you slightly older than me? - You are in the vigor of youth
3) Are you 10 years older than me? - You are decrepid.

This is a continually sliding scale that advances with my own personal age.
