I feel like normally you're supposed to escape Samsara by gently and slowly stopping the turning wheel and then getting off as it comes to a stand-still and disappear into Nirvana.
We economists did the opposite and put Samsara into hyperdrive so we get ejected by the centrifugal forces and fly off.

One thing that always trips me up about US american conversation style is this strong need to always use "sir" and "m'am", like "Yes sir", "Yes m'am", do you guys just enjoy the casual power play when you speak to someone or why are you so eager to emphasize hierarchies, you are worse than austrians

I get there are lots of reasons for pessimism, but a lot of desperately poor nations are developing, global child mortality has tanked since I was a kid, malaria deaths are way down, extreme poverty is *way* down, access to water and power are widespread, solar power is booming...
