I remember when the Hangman/Punk storyline was in full swing I was smelling w̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶R̶o̶c̶k̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶c̶o̶o̶k̶i̶n̶'̶ big whiffs of TNA booking where a former WWE talent was put over a better younger TNA original. After Punk won at DON 2022 I knew in my heart Hangman was done as a main eventer.
Meanwhile, CM Punk coming to AEW was a dream come true for many and there was a ton of optimism and energy among his fans, who wanted the belt on him ASAP
