Just finished "How High We Go In The Dark" by @sequoian.bsky.social.

I absolutely loved it. Maybe it resonated with me a little bit more being Japanese American, but even without that, it's still an amazing piece.

Giving it a 5/5 on Goodreads.

If you love #DungeonCrawlerCrawl and the 80s original "Red Dawn," you'll love this one!

(I guess if you liked the remake too...)

"Project Hail Mary" on this weekend off.
Loved the book!
Movie adaptation was perfect! Collapsed the hard science part to get more people in, kept the dynamic, tone, and messaging intact.

(Yes, my book end is a "self-portrait" 😅)

Of course I'm watching #Scrubs!!!!

Like literally the show that was with me through med school and residency.

This reboot is like super real from the Attending level...

When to suspect your Attending is a "content creator":

1. Addresses the team as "chat"
2. Interrupts rounds with requests to "like and subscribe"
3. About 1 minute into lecture, does a second introduction for "the YouTube VOD."

Being bald means you don't care all that much about your head getting wet on rainy days.

The morning sky in DTLA is a sick orange gray hue.
The air? It smells of burnt wood. Sirens break the uneasy quiet.

It is raining ash.

This will not be a good day.

To all the med students and residents, a lesson I've learned and have been paying for the hard way:

Go to the dentist regularly. If you need time off to go, go while you're on my rotation cuz I understand.

Don't miss going for like 13 years like me...

Report in NEJM describing the first critically ill adolescent with #H5N1 D1.1 (aka #BirdFlu) in North America.

A 13 yo rapidly progressed from mild symptoms to respiratory & renal failure. She survived thanks to IMV + ECMO + CRRT.

Scary stuff.
