Tonight the Red Sox play the Yankees in ... the Bronx, named for the Broncks (and the only one of NYC's five boroughs still using the definite article).

Do-yeong Kim’s 41st of the year breaks Kia franchise record for most homers in a season. Kia, formerly Haitai, is one of the KBO’s Original Six.

Do-yeong Kim delivered the go-ahead hit to help Korea win the Gold Medal at the Asian Games. It’s one of the biggest hits of Kim’s life, as the medal now releases his military service obligation and puts him on track for MLB posting in either 2028 or 2029.

Sung-bum Na led the way in Kia’s critical win over LG today. Three hits, including his 29th homer of the season. Na has had a resurgent season after struggling with injuries last year.

It’s taken most of the season, but Woo-jin An has looked like his old, dominant self in his past few starts. 7 Ks and 0 ER over 6 IP against a strong KT offense today.

I think the first season of The Girlfriend Experience is arguably the best TV I’ve ever seen, but the series dips from there, so no space. This was harder than I expected.

Pretty chalk - though not bad - list. But The Girlfriend Experience is a big miss, The Knick is a huge miss, and The Underground Railroad is an incomprehensible, indefensible, and shocking miss. It almost seems like a mistake.

Hyun-jin Ryu still has the capacity to dominate and it remains a joy to watch. Nine Ks on 83 pitches today against the best team in the KBO.

I’ve never seen a more consistent young Korean starter than Min-seok Choi. With another five tough innings in a much-needed Doosan win today, he once again looked like an ace, and maybe the best Korean starter in the world, and he’s only 20.

Spectacular game between NC and Doosan today. A few weeks ago, it seemed Doosan would threaten a top three spot but with today’s win, NC is only two games away from knocking them out of the playoffs. Whee-jip Kim (of the great KBO names club), had three hits and five RBIs for the Dinos.

Austin Dean hit homers 37 and 38 today. Somehow he’s only 54 away from the most all time for a foreign hitter. Given how much love Dean gets from LG, he has a good shot at sticking around. Wonderful story of a player finding a second life in the KBO. One of the 5-10 best foreign players ever.

#40 for Do-yeong. He missed becoming the youngest in KBO history by just four days (Seung-yuop Lee in 1999 still holds that record), but he’s the first Korean player to hit 40 homers since Yoo-seom Han in 2018, and the first Korean player ever to reach 40 for the Tigers.

Ja-wook Koo is mounting a late MVP case. Today, Koo had his 15th 3+ hit game. He’s now slashing .361/.443/.563, leading the league in both BA and OBP.

Bo-gyeong Moon led LG to a huge comeback win today at Jamsil. LG is back to their winning ways lately, and still has a shot at finishing first.

Minor fun fact: All of LG's pitchers tonight have experience with MLB clubs.
