Watched a movie called Mister Organ. It is chilling. It's a documentary about a wicked person. Half anxiety horror, half chilling character study. Well worth a watch, if you can find it. I found it on Plex.

Watched Brazil for the first time in ages. Still a great movie, but I think I saw a new thing that I hadn't really picked up on before. The main character is garbage. He's a privileged dickhead who tries to force his way on everyone around him, jeopardizing the resistance and killing his infatuation

Jesus, I knew that Network was a good movie, but I didn't know HOW good it is. Of its time and eerily prescient, with some of the best acting I've seen. The only movie to make me really appreciate Ned Beatty as an actor (yes, I've seen Deliverance). Fuck, I'm sad I waited so long to watch it.

The Visitor (1979) is nuts. A little bit Rosemary's Baby, kinda like Exorcist, add a dash of the Omen, throw in some late 70's shit sound design, and mix it all together with a touch of Jodorowsky, and baby you have a weird-ass movie going. The score is... something. I might love it.

Evil Dead Burn is dumb, ugly and boring. Not even any really creative gore. Everything that Rise had going for it was completely absent in Burn. I'm actually kind of angry that I watched that one.

Evil Dead Rise, in the modern parlance, understood the assignment. Brutal, fun, and fucking bleak. Acting, cinematography, and sound design, specifically were fantastic.
I've only seen the first two Evil Dead re-quels, but they're both pretty great. Looking forward to Burn.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans is a deeply weird movie. The original is a bleak portrait of a once (maybe) good person who has given himself to the depths of depravity, seemingly to numb the pain of his horrific job. It's unrelenting in its scum. This one is a goofy romp.

I forgot how absolutely depraved the LT is in "Bad Lieutenant." Harvey Keitel gets the mannerisms of substance abuse and addiction down really well. As hard as it is to watch, I think it's actually a fantastic movie. Curious to see how Nic Cage's version compares.

John Wick is a brilliant action extravaganza. John Wick 2 is the reason the general public cares about it as much as it does to this day. Without the sequel, I feel like the OG would be a respected action flick but largely forgotten, like Dredd.
