2/ moral judgement should be retained or promoted. Every officer in the army at or above brigadier general (several hundred) should be reevaluated and possibly pushed out. Ditto for the other services.

A very good case that the US military is in crisis and that its leadership has been gutted.

I take it that he is saying that if we completely replayed history, not including what we know now, he would make the same mistake. And then two years later he would have the same regrets.
