Two unusual memorials in All Saints Church, Pavement, York. (1) A stained glass window commemorating all those from York who served and three soldiers killed in Afghanistan. (2) A Roll of Honour for five National Service men killed between 1948 and 1957, four of whom were aged 19 when they died.

A question for the SWW people out there. Why did the Allies deem it necessary to bomb St Malo so heavily in August 1944? I haven't researched it in any depth but I've never understood the rationale. (Photo is rose window in Cathédrale Saint-Vincent.)

Memorial in Église Notre Dame d'Emeraude to the "ENFANTS" of Dinard in Brittany who died in the Great War. So many from what must have been a small conurbation at the time.
