Gutted for him, but you could sense the writing was on the wall.

Will forever be a club legend & got the job when we were a real basket case. I think he was always someone to bridge the gap, I.e sort out the bloated squad & re-establish us a top six side.

He did that.…
Thank you, Dave 💚

Indecision EVERYWHERE.

When we get the ball down, take a breath & actually look to work it, we can get forward into decent areas. It’s the panicking, hoof ball & indecision that’s costing us.

Megwa off is a disaster as it’s not natural for Kerr in there to progress forward…

Hibs’ tactical flaws exposed in defeat to St Johnstone as pressure grows on Gray
Hibs lacked a clear route through St Johnstone – and left too much room for the hosts to play through them.

Matty and Colin are joined by tactical analyst Craig to unpack why the press broke down, why the midfield never quite clicked, and why David Gray’s side seemed caught between a high-energy front-foot plan and a low-block counterattacking setup.

Chaiwa & Mayor with an instant impact, great finish from Mayor & McGrath more influential.

Started to create some decent chances, started taking the game to Hearts & then a moment of absolute madness…

If you play McGrath, Wright, Boyle…out of possession they absolutely have to work & we are so disorganised with the press, we are 2nd too absolutely everything.

Devaney struggling, not getting on the ball & when he does he’s been caught wanting too much time. However…

Sticks to his guns.

❔I wonder if we’ll look to build in the 3-1-6 we often morphed into on Sunday, or if we’ll be more pragmatic.

🤔Interested to see what Hearts to counter Devaney’s influence, 1 fairly obvious solution

🎯Hopefully McGrath & Wright cause a bit of chaos on the right

Definitely a little bit of nerves at the end, but a brilliant performance which deserved more goals.

Devaney was a revelation in the middle of the park & his ability to drop in, keep the ball moving & create space for Obita or Kerr to play forward was so crucial…

Brilliant 1st half performance, the most fluid we’ve looked from an attacking point of view.

Devaney anchoring the centre of midfield is allowing the freedom for the likes of McGrath, Wright, Boyle & Mulligan to play…

Gent dominating the ball, Kadri (no.37) dropping off the forward line into midfield has really helped their build up.

They are still targeting our right, perhaps because Ngom doesn’t look great on the ball, but they are a huge threat with Sonko & Araújo.

Lowe missed…

McGrath can drop in between the lines, as well as be a key link on the left. Boyle can also drop in, but personally, would like to see him closer to Lowe, playing off the shoulder.

Either way, it’s attacking changes & I hope we look to alter from being direct & playing out.

Brilliant 1st half performance - all it needed was a goal. Poor penalty from Elding, not sure why Campbell didn’t take it.

Out of possession, we grew into the game, looking more assured. They seem to be targeting our right, Mulligan, Elding, Passlack & Chaiwa (as the deepest MF)…

From @jackhwrites chat with Scott Coyne, I would imagine Josh Campbell’s inclusion is to help deal with Gent’s fluid possession.

Also, from their chat, Scott Coyne said there would be opportunities in behind & we know Campbell is a willing runner.

As you were everywhere else.

We’re through to the next round, & in the end, that’s all that really matters.

But, it was far from a polished performance & there will need be improvements ahead of the next European game.

Stuffy performance.

Schkëndia look dangerous on the counter attack & their movements look more fluid than ours when they get in behind.

Our press from goal kicks is better organised than last week, but credit to Schkëndia, they aren’t afraid to rotate & mix things up…

Important we get the press right, especially when Shkendiia play out from the back.

In possession, need to move the ball quick & hopefully with Wright’s inclusion, better opportunity to get on the ball in between the lines.

Him & Mayor linked well against Brondby - hopefully more of the same!

Their build-up from the back constantly catching us out.

Players not following instructions or unsure what to do…?
